Wanted: 80's vintage 928
I am looking for a 928, between years 84-87, and between about 50k-90k miles. Vehicle must be in USA, and at least 49-state emissions compliant. This is driven largely by budget constraints. FI must be at least L-jetronic in evolution. If you have one for sale or can direct someone looking to sell, please contact my email address:
m_j_pate@maranatha.net
I will send you my requirements and limitations. If yours is a special or highly upgraded example, I don't want to waste your time. I have a budget and am looking for a well maintained stocker. Again, please refer to the information that I will send you. There will be no sense in beginning negotiations unless you feel you can work within my constraints. I'm in no rush. If your requirements don't match my budget, feel free to advise me as to what you need. I doubt this will develop into a near term negotiation, but this might bring us together in the future, depending on how things develop.
Thanks
Mike Pate

You filled in the Title line which is more than most do. If we read the title and open it you are not wasting anyone's time. why don't you list all parameters here?
Search archives for sellers. Autotrader.com, 928gt.com, cars.com, parcars.com and bad ol ebay (buyer beware).

he'd rather have everyone, who thinks of selling his car knock on his door so that he can pick
a nice one
have a look at the classifieds here or at eal bay.
with a little bit of effort you will find, what you're looking for.

All are possible, and especially necessary when looking on eBay.

Or, ask this list or do a search for preferred 928 mechanics and then find the one closest and arrange for a PPI with the shop and seller while the auction is still ongoing.

BTW: I had heard anecdotally that members contacting ebay sellers was frowned on by ebay. Could not find reference to this in ebay bylaws. Any knowledge on this? Thanks

You may want to browse eBay and find out what it's about.

You can ask questions of anyone selling something on eBay. For eBay motors it's expected and you are also encouraged in many of them to go see the vehicle before the auction closes so you can make an informed bid.
Whoops Matt you beat me to it.

Completely not true. Actually, you are encouraged to contact the seller. There is a "contact the seller" link, and the seller can post the questions posed to him, along with the answers in his listing.
