However the engines can be tuned to make near 355rwhp!!!
That is incorrect; 2002 - 2004 C5 Z06's do SAE corrected 350 - 360 rwhp bone-stock off the showroom floor.

With just a tune, they can make 380 at the rear wheels.

Correct.

Add some LG headers, reflash the ECUs to match and you're at 400 rwhp or better.

I like Vette's and their drivers are usually very classy people. I have gotten more honks and waives from Vette drivers than any other cars on the road....including other porsche drivers.

I know I act like a kid, but I'm actually old enough to remember my 356 days and how other Porsche drivers flashed their lights at each other without thinking about it. Sometime around the seventies, all of that changed. I have no explanation. I do realize that around the seventies the prices of P cars and the reputation of Porsche seemed to "evolve" from a giant killer to a giant (think 917). All of a sudden it seemed "in" to drive a P car as opposed the the esoteric nature of the make during earlier times when you had to be a bit "odd" to own one. All of this makes no sense to me as I just work here and make no judgements or pretend to understand human nature. In fact, I think I'll just go for a drive in my Volkswagen and not worry about it.

I was reading some ricer magazine two or 3 months ago and some guy had a blown, tuned up RX-7 making something like 400 HP at the wheels coming from his 1.3L engine.

He also made the car a tubeframe and had a shell made out of CF.

New meaning to rice ROCKET.
