Keith,

I've done something like this on my car. I've put LEDs in the door handle recess, i.e. behind the handle, to illuminate that area when the headlights are switched on.

Alan told me how to rig up a delay so that they stay illuminated for a brief while after the circuit is shut down. I ran out of time (end of season) before I got it working, though, so I still have to make that happen.

I like the effect they have on the cabin ambience.

My 93 has them.

I was toying with the idea of casting them in aluminum with a high polished look.

I will see how it works out. If I can find enough people interested in a set I could produce them. If anyone is interested would they want just the center pull handle or the outside surround also. I have no idea what cost would be but I am guessing around $75 for a pair of pull handles and roughly $100 for the surrounds in polished aluminum.

Probably too expensive but I would have to cover my costs.

Chaad, that is a good idea as well! A lot easier to do, but doesn't get rid of the FREAKIN' DOT!

So thanks a lot...now everytime I get in my car, those damn things are gonna bug the crap out of me as they match NOTHING! (note to self, modify the FREAKIN' DOTS!!!!)

BTW, My car already has the valet lights that stay on til ya put the key in and twist it in any of the cylinders or automatically goes off after 10 seconds or so.

Maybe someone should come up with the same system the airlines use to guide you to an exit in case of an emergency...eh hemTONY. (wonder how many times THAT has actually been successfully used?..ever think about that?!?)

It would be cool...but very hard to run the wires.....that door handle is pretty small.....but a channel in the back of it would work.....difficult but not impossible

LOL!

Hmmm, I wonder if this is why my hair has been falling out, ever since I got the '88.

Can't be due to anything else, like turning into an old fart, I'm sure.
