Default No Problem!

Flew down to Seattle last night and stayed at Heinrichs' place.

Heinrich loaned me his '85 auto in which to travel down to my house with, Thanks!!

Got home and opened up the shop, pulled the cover off of Helmut. Opened the hatch, reattached the ground strap, slid into the drivers seat, inserted key and vvrrooom! Started right up! Last time he was started was in Oct. I love this 928! Never gives me any grief!

Oh and the short spin up the road was, well, Fantastic!!!

I'll be flying out of Dutch Harbor again today.

In about 24 hours I will be seeing if I can go 10 for 10 with Helmut starting right up after a prolonged hibernation. I bought him in '03 and have never had any issue with restarting him every year twice a year...

My last vacation was in April, so he hasn't breathed the fresh air since then, but I have faith that yet again I'll put him on like a glove and turn the key and hear the sweet music of his V8 roaring through an x-pipe and RMB.

Shane--

I think I remember a mention that you guys are selling the bar. True? If so, are you going to stay up there making volts? There are folks who hang around in the lower 48 all year, don't worry so much about frostbite, etc. And probably aren't sick of eating crab three meals a day.

I also trust that your place is above the +20-something foot flood stage of the Chehalis creek, er river, I mean 'lake'? News pic's a couple weeks ago looked pretty ominous there. I didn't dare call the folks at the power plant for fear of actually having to go swim in and fix something.

Tavel Safe, my friend!

Travel Safe, my friend!

Well it is true that we sold/are selling the bar, just waiting for the liquor license transfer to complete before the payday happens.

Yes, I'll probably stay here making volts, till I have finished outfitting my shop with a lift and other goodies, and paving that 1/2 mile long driveway.

It would take a flood of biblical proportions to get to our house. But it would tend to leave a person stranded when the Chehalis does flood. I noticed that two of my old employers down there got flooded out as well, Cascade Hardwoods and Railcar WA, both of which are close to the plant you put on-line.

Heinrich, I might have a line on some for ya... If so you will get a midnight call from the airport to come pick it up...

That's ok. The rest of us PacNW'ers don't mind the expense at all.

Welcome back Shane! I imagine just going to get a quart of milk is a great drive in the 928 given the roads out to your place.

I looked into having our driveway paved on a budy deal it was over 80 grand, and it is only 1/4 mile.

HMM, maybe I should have gotten more than a quote from my brother.

Ours will cost $20k with $8 k share being on my brother in law, so $12k out of our pockets.

Of course it helps that he works for one of the largest concrete and asphalt companies around, so we will get some what of a price break...

Hi Shane,
You headed on to TX? Sent you an email...
Enjoy your time behind the wheel... and under the hood... and engine... and...
Airports are especially 'fun' (NOT) this time of year.
Safe travels!

Well I got bumped to a later flight out of Dutch, but hey Heinrichs' king crab made the plane. :rockin:

Supposedly I'll be catching up to them in Anchorage, and still making it to Seattle on the same flight.
