Well it is official... Ten for Ten. Got home at 4am yesterday and took a four hour nap. Got up and tried both the Chevy P/U and Buick beater and neither one would start, so I ambled up to the shop and retrieved the trusty battery charger and hooked up the truck battery. Went back up to the shop, cleaned the posts on Helmuts' battery, reconnected, checked the air filter and maf for little critters, checked the oil and coolant, reached in and turned the key on listening for fuel pump, turned it another notch and once again he started right up. What a joy this car is!!
By the time I got the other cars running so the kids and wife could go shopping, I was getting kinda hungry. So what a great excuse to go for a spirited drive down to the local Subway... I always tend to forget just the kind of power these cars have from being away in Alaska driving my 20hp truck around, these things are Rockets!!
There is a huge amount of water damage around this area from the flood. It is quite a sight! Much worse then the one we had in '96.

Hey Shane!
I was beginning to worry 'bout you! Happy to hear 'the glove fit!'
All the best for a Merry Christmas to you and yours -- sounds like you got a 'jump start' on that!

Make that eleven for eleven, Helmut is on a roll!! Man I love this car...
Flew in last night, went up to the shop this morning, reconnected the ground strap and yes indeed... started right up and idled like a shark should.
Took it for a drive around the block and enjoyed his roar...perma-grin!
Just thought I'd share since very rarely do you see posts on this site that doesn't come with a request for help because such and such is broken or not functioning right.

After you replace...OK, basically everything...then it tends to run fine for years without any intervention. It's when you aren't thinking 'holistic' that trouble keeps resurfacing.
My old '81 starts on the first crank every time, even after sitting for months. Every time I drive the '86 it's a cup race, but it's never left me stranded. (Knock on wood! Salt over the shoulder!)
"My crank sensor connector crumbled. I'm going to put a GM connector on there." Geeeezzus...it's a sign, replace it, whydon'tcha!

We have an even dozen...
Except this time, both Beth and Helmut started right up and had smooth idles!!
I couldn't take them for a drive though as my driveway is in the process of being paved so no fun runs on my little autobahns till after the eleventh. Which is ok anyway as I have some detailing to do on Beth since I didn't have much chance to do it after my road trip from Green Bay to Las Vegas to Centralia. Plus I have some interior pieces to pull from Heidi that will replace some from Beth and Zelda.
Hopefully this vacation I'll see my shop extention done and perhaps get that four post lift I've been drooling on!

good question...
How about after the concrete work gets done...
The main drive is getting paved but our driveway at the house and our new circular drive up to the shops will be done in concrete, which is still being worked with the equipment. I'll take some pics and post them.

So Shane the best perceived performance enhancer is to only drive your 928 occasionally and to drive a lumbering underpowered truck the rest of the time....
I believe it !
Every time I come back home after a vacation driving a regular rental car for a week - my 928 feels like it gained 100HP over the last time I drove it...
Enjoy as soon as you can!!!

I think Colin will be down today (doing an H run, Ken O run) and then down here...Plans are to get the track car on the local dyno down here on Friday...take it to the shop ...rip that bastard of a LH/EZK system out of it..and then after all said and done...take it back to the dyno for an after (and hopefully better set) dyno run...

Horsepower Connection in Lacey (it's about 3 miles from my place). Brian Macy owns it. The rear turbo guys have been using him for a while now. Not a dynojet, but I'm just looking for before/after comparison.... I am stopping by there today at lunch to check his schedule..

Just checked in with Brian...got an 11am slot to get the baseline numbers..then it's off to the shop. Sounds like lots of folks are around these parts...Keith Martin (the good one) is in town..as will be Colin..and Shane... We should be able to get some kinda dinner thing going one of these days??

Shane, if you are coming down to the shop I would LOVE to get a ride in the supershark!
That will give me alittle more motivation to get my intake done and get the turbos onto the car for the May spokane TA.
