Default Houston Dyno Day - Any Interest

Anyone interested in a dyno day in the Houston area? Once I get my car patched back up, I'd like to see what she's got.

Does anyone know these guys just south of Tomball Bavarian Hyper Sports - they have a Dynojet 248C dynamometer?

I will contact them and find out costs, group discounts, etc if anyone is interested.

I'm looking for a dyno myself, and this one is VERY close to us, about 2 mins drive. But we want to tune our 928, as we've installed a programmable engine management system with a MAP and temp sensor (boy, that engine picks up a LOT better now!).
We've been there, but their dyno is an inertia type and is very not suited for our purpose now as we need a constant load dyno to get the base values correct. We may be interested (but we'd hog the dyno for half an hour ) but only if we can find the right type (officially called an 'eddy current' dyno, or perhaps something like a 'waterbrake' dyno).
We found a good dyno down on the gulf freeway halfway between 610 and the beltway, near the airport there, but that's quite a drive and we'd prefer something closer but if that's all there is, we'll be goin there.
I'll keep an eye on this thread.

Check the dyno locator on
http://www.mustangdyne.com
These are eddy current dyno's, there's one only 3-4 miles away (although proper engine tuning in our case requires a fully warmed up engine, ie 20-30 mins of driving).

Ditto piccardo's question. I'm curious for sure, but probably wouldn't spend $100 to find out.

I don't know yet, we'll probably be going to the guy on aldine bender this afternoon already though. Looks like my dad is impatient (it's his ride, but he barely knows how to operate the tuning box ), I'll let you know about prices.
Remember though: inertial dyno's are bad for a good comparison, especially if you go to different shops. Eddy current dyno's keep the load constant and can calculate horsepower far more accurately. Also: some of these mustang dynos also come with drums so you can do the old dyno pull.

Ah, another update. The guy on aldine-bender is a complete nutjob, he doesn't know what he bought: first he didn't know what an eddy current is, second he thought his dyno was only inertial. Dumbass.
The folks on Breer (horsepower engineering) seem alright, the mustang dyno is $150/hour. We haven't done any dyno'ing yet, but we first want to make sure they aren't stupid as well. The man who operates the dyno was occupied, we'll be calling them again tomorrow, we currently set an appointment for the 27th (they were BOOKED).
