Default 928 & 442; Can they share a garage?

Let's say I let go of my '94 cabriolet. Do you think my 928 would be embarrassed to share the cave w/ a mint 442? Why do all the good cars have three numbers? Is there some quantum theory at play here?

Well, they are both big, heavy, somewhat whale-like.............they should fit in!

That one says CLONE and has the wrong engine most likely was a plain Cutlass Convert at one time ...be very sure what it is you would be buying...And if you have not driven an old "muscle car " recently it is hard to remember how really poorly they handle and brake I had a 69 442 4 speed many many years ago it too had a 455...major torque !

Old lang syne; I have a vivid memory of driving down Galveston beach in one with three lovely young ladies. About 34 years ago, dammit!

Ah Yes but just as those young ladies (who are now approaching age 60) the 442 is not going to evoke the same feelings

Ok, maybe instead of a 442, I should look at a jet ski. At least no one would notice the old farts drooling in their laps! Hey, how old are most women with dentures. There may be hope, yet.

That's very kind of you, Dave. I am not serious. After driving Porsches, I really don't know if I could appreciate a muscle car. They do tug at my heartstrings, though.

At least until mean ol' Jim started my mind to thinkin' about the aging process.

Thanks again for the offer.

Randy about the only good thing about getting older is your definition of a "sweet young thing" gets much broader

American muscle and German muscle....why not? A friend's brother had a '69 442 way back when. He got a lot of respect, it was a torque monster.

I drove a '68 Camaro last year for a buddy in KS who was interested in it. The motor was built up a bit, and it was pretty quick But, what a POS when it came to brakes and suspension. It'd been a longtime since I'd driven a car like this. Back in high school, we live muscle cars (early-mid 70's). My feel for cars has grown much more sophisticated with regard to the whole package. But, driving the Camaro was fun, and there are certainly a ton of aftermarket stuff to improve the weak aspects.

Because of my daughter and son in law over the last several years I have driven many muscle cars too many 69 Cameros to remember all of them,440 challengers , 396 ss Chevelle , big block Stingrays, several 70s Corvettes, her Pantera, Factory 5 cobra , 308 F car , 4-5 911s did miss out on the SRT10 and SRT4 however.... And while muscle cars are fun in a straight line they are a handfull when turning or stopping. Even a new truck is light years ahead ! I was really dumb to run a new 69 Torino 428 cobra jet at 130 mph plus so many years ago !

Uhh no!

Not compatible at all... one of them would end up with curve envy and end up just rusting away...

After thinking about it, this was probably a dumb question. The garage wouldn't be the problem, I would.

I remember driving home in my first Porsche and telling people they wouldn't understand why they're are worth it unless they drove one.

The sloppiness in handling and braking on and on just as Jim said. Those differences in quality would ruin the muscle car for anyone who has owned a Porsche.

I really hate saying that as I am proud to be an American. At least I can admit it.

Muscles cars are cool....... they have their own unique features.....which handling and braking are not + attributes..... bottom line is its your garage and your wallet.....if you like it, buy it and enjoy it...you only live once!!
