I don't know I kinda like it. It sorta has that vintage polish look. To much mirror polish finish looks a little to bling bling to me. Just my opinon though.

1 Remove the emblem before anymore polishing.
2 Your emblem is crooked.
3 Polished bling is so last year.

Wow, have you been keeping track of the hours you have logged so far.
I think the high polished look with the painted crest is very classic.
Keep on going.

I was wondering why don't you like the way it looks is it the shine?
If you want it glass smooth you need to obtain buffing wheels and 2 levels of rouge then an alum polish. True Grit ,in Tampa has all the materials you need I brought my dead wheels back to life took a while but you would think they were chrome..

tampa. it's the detail, i don't like. it is very hard to straighten all the inperfections in the material. i have all it needs to do the work.
however,
it has to be perfect, as in no exeption, or i'll go another route

Or you could keep going and ditch the ridge and just polish with a 3m wheel for a nice permanent brushed look. No bling, just classic.

I understand, with age I have tried to over look imperfections but deep down it still bugs me. Kind of like painting a room and the only part you see when it is done is the spot in the corner that does not match !
Just got mine back from the powder coater and the pipes are a lot more vibrant red then I wanted but I'll just put on the sun glasses when I open the hood.

I have been working on a polished plenum and runner job for a while. I have ground off the seam that runs down the center of the plenum and all of the seems and casting #'s off of the parts. I have the polishing rouge and aluminum polish with a buffing wheel attached to my drill. I have been having trouble getting the scratches out of everything. I'm looking for a mirror like finish. Similar to the pic DR posted or the one in TV's avatar.

I have time on my side because I bought a spare intake.

Thanks! Yep, I bought a whole new (to me) set of leather seats that I'm planning on redoing with SEM and installing (after I'm done polishing my plenum, of course )
