For purposes of duty and tax, Customs will reference "fair market value or actual sale value" for the assessment of duties and taxes. Can anyone direct me to a resource document from which I can determine "fair market value" for our 928's? I suspect that I might prefer that Customs reference a "fair market value" document, in my case.

The Canadian Customs will access your car at the purchase price. My understanding is they would only use the "fair market value" if someone for example gave you the car.

Taxes are high but Health Care is "FREE"

Here are the Canadian tax rates,

http://www.cra-arc.gc.ca/tax/individ...axrates-e.html (Add Federal and Provincial)

Plus other taxes come off your pay check, Unemployment, Workers compensation. Then you just have to pay goods and services tax (GST) and Provincial sales tax (PST) on everything you buy.

I know Europe has high taxes but compared to the U.S tax rate it is insanely high.

Have the seller document a lower selling price - listing it as about half of actual will save you some money.

Customs won't care, as long as the price isn't obviously bogus.

Is it July 12th now

Some Canadians don't pay PST; at least not openly.
