Anyone have a Britax Starriser Booster Seat
#33
Continuing the chronicles of research into child booster seat options with a rear lap belt.....
I found a much cheaper alternative that may work - FisherPrice Safe Voyage Deluxe. It is pretty much the same seat and seat-base design as the Britax Marathon which will fit the 928 rear seats. In fact, it is made by Britx for Fisher-Price. The Fisher-Price versions costs around $130-$180 while the Britax version costs around $220 to $270.

Here is another alternative for seating a child in a 928. This five-point harness alternative uses the existing rear seat (without the need to use an actual child seat). Of course, it is more suitable for older children:

Uh, I'm always wary of something that looks like an ad that runs at 2 am on TV.
This looks like it replaces a boost seat, not the huge *** baby seat they claim. While my kid hasn't gotten to the booster seat stage, those don't seem like as much trouble, and don't take up much space.
Plus the way that thing attaches to the regular belt doesn't actually look very reassuring. Looks like your kid will travel a ways before it actually starts restraining them. It really doesn't look very safe to me, in all honesty.

Hey, great thread! With our little guy closing in on 3yrs old and pushing 40 lbs, the shark is finally going to be a family car! I just snagged one of the Fisher Price Safe Voyage booster seats from Amazon for $49 (including s&h).

It's the Brittax Starriser knock-off mentioned earlier in this thread, and there are only a few left at Amazon! If you're interested, better place that order soon! When it arrives I'll let you guys know how it fits.

This is what the Fisher-Price Safe Voyage Booster seat looks like in my 928. This seat is made by Fisher-Price. Similar to the Britx Starriser model. It is an exact replica of the factory Porsche Zoom booster seat which sells for $300+. It has a base which you can adjust for width. The seatback height is also adjustable and can also be removed (i.e., you can use the base only). The seat-base and seat-back can be easily dismantled and put into the hatch area or truck of any car for easy storage.
This places sells them for $29!

Here are pics of all kinds of booster seat, but were afraid to ask

Check out and compare the pics of the Britax Starriser, this Fisher-Price Safe Voyage Booster and the Porsche Zoom Comfy seat and you can tell that they are very similiar.
