My son is currently using a Britax Baby seat but he is growing out of it and will soon be beyond the safe weight limit of the seat.
The problme is that I'm having a hard time finding a booster seat which will fit in the back seat of the shark.
The back seat width is 12" at the back and 13" at the middle with a big increase as you move forwrad. I have yet to find a booster seat with those types of dimensions, majority have 16" or great at the back.
Does anyone have a good solution for this? I'm afraid of putting him in front due to the airbags.
I have an OB, so rear seat belt is different. I found myself at a Toys R Us a few weeks back asked if I could try running a few carseats out to the car. They had no problem and I found a carseat that fit great and was really inexpensive. Not that ugly either. Also felt good Knowing it would fit.
Good luck.
Eugene how did you get this to work? The dimensions state that the width is 16.5" but I'm not sure where they're taking this measurement. Did it fit into the seat without hitting the leather on the side? I did find them online for $60 which is reasonable, especially since my daughter will also need one eventually.
I plan to drape a towel over the leather to protect it but I'm trying to avoid having any direct pressure on the sides to prevent damage/denting.
I have a Britax Parkway booster in the rear of my 993. Pretty tight, but works nicely. Our Graco and other boosters are all too wide, but the Britax tucks right in.
This is what the Fisher-Price Safe Voyage Booster seat looks like in my 928. This seat is made by Fisher-Price. Similar to the Britx Starriser model. It is an exact replica of the factory Porsche Zoom booster seat which sells for $300+. It has a base which you can adjust for width. The seatback height is also adjustable and can also be removed (i.e., you can use the base only). The seat-base and seat-back can be easily dismantled and put into the hatch area or truck of any car for easy storage.
Check out and compare the pics of the Britax Starriser, this Fisher-Price Safe Voyage Booster and the Porsche Zoom Comfy seat and you can tell that they are very similiar.
At $29 each, we bought 6 of them to put in our various cars! I also have 3 boys all under the age of 5. So, I need them
Thanks Andrew, I'll definitely look into this one. What do you have underneath the seats, is it a rubber mat? Do you have any problems with rubbing on the sides?
Sorry - I didn't mean to imply that I used one in a 928. I just found it to be the narrowest I could find. At the time, I had to squeeze my oldest son between my twins' car seats in an Audi S4. Doesn't get much tighter.
