I'm curious as to what this option code is on my 86.5s AT. Vehicle Option Code is P36...Option description "Special Chassis with M393."

According to the 993 registry! Option Code P36"Special Chassis with M393" is: 17" Targa wheels! I am unable to find the same reference for a 928

Well, I do have a sunroof, but this specificly says Special Chassis with M393. I'd like to know what's special about the chassis. I bought the car with the stock 16" wheels, but last week bought a set of 17" tires and wheels off a Boxter. They bolted right on, no problems, no modifications or spacers.

P36 is a group package that includes Reno radio, protective side moldings, and about 2-3 other things. Someone on here will know the remaining items. Check the search engine, that question has been asked and already answered before.

M393 Club Sport - Forged Wheels - 8x16 front, 9x16 rear (88-M637 & 89-M639) Found that code, just for a different year.

I have a set of chromed Club Sports with painted centers that I would be willing to sell. 8 X 16 and 9 X 16. They also come with a brand new set of front tires and a well used set of rear tires. P36 means different things in 993 and 928. M393 can be part of the package in 993 Targa but it might not be so in 928. Also its good to remember P codes means different set of options in different years. For '86 it can't mean Club Sport wheels as they weren't inveted yet.
