Default 928 Intl and my new unique 86.5

As you may know my '86 (Heidi) caught on fire, when this happened I called 928 Intl to get a new set of fuel lines for my '86.5, adnd told Jim why I wanted them. Well when Jim saw my post about my Heidi (See this thread) he called me up to offer a replacement '86.5 for me to consider. Here is the option list:
Options:

Y5Y5 - Meteor Grey Metallic
YZ - Leather Seats-Burgundy
P36 - Electric Sliding Sunroof
018 - Steering Wheel With Raised Hub
220 - Limited Slip Differential (!!)
383 - Sport Seat, Left (!!)
387 - Sport Seat, Right (!!)
418 - Protective Side Moldings
481 - 5-Speed Manual Transmission

Delivered: 9/12/86 Paul Miller Porsche / Parsippany, NJ

Featured in 'Porsche Panorama' magazine (December 1994 issue p.46-52)
All original except:

(PN 928.302.911.55) Factory Porsche Euro 2.73 low ratio ring & pinion gear (!!)
Stereo
Shocks (Koni PN 8240-1085 / 8240-1086)
Autothority Chip
5.0l 32 valve V8
5-Speed
Meteor Metallic Paint
Burgundy Leather
Blaupunkt CD (not original)
226,000 miles
Well maintained (we're a family of 4 engineers)
All records since new in 3-ring binder!

So at the time he first offered it to me I was down on my luck and short on dollars, and passed on it. Yeah can you believe that. But Jim was not to be swayed, he wanted this car to go to a good home and I finally broke down to the shark lust and Jim brokered the deal between Mark and myself!

So in October when I take my "next vacation" off this rock that I live upon, I will fly or catch a ride from a fellow PacNWer to Sharktoberfest and pick up my new shark!! Here are some pics!

I would really like to offer up a huge thanks to Jim and Mark for getting me back on track with this car, I was feeling rather shark bit in a harsh way having 6 years of hard work and money go up in smoke. Now I can still have a 928 to drive while I wrench on the other, and maxamize the fun factor for my vacations. It is just another example of how these guys contribute to our community in more ways than just parts. They very well could have just parted this one out, but opted to find it a home instead. THANK YOU!!!

Congratulations! That's a nice example! But what will happento Heidi? Is she going to be dismembered, then cremate the leftovers?

Well, either way, I look forward to meeting you at the Sharktoberfest!

No, by all means, NO! She will be rebuilt to her former glory, but that will be a huge undertaking and an immense amount of time-labor which I don't have while on vacation. I will continue to buy the parts and supplies I will need to repair her and when I am retired from this place (two to three years) I will have all the time I need to make her whole again.

Hey, that's just like my car, except mine's Prussian Blue w/blue interior, and pinstripe velour instead of full leather, and no side moldings. Sport seats, LSD, 5-speed, production date 12/17/85.

The euro gear ratio is what makes this one so unique, 2.73 instead of 2.20 as was standard.

And thanks guys!! to all the 86.5's they are my favorite!!

I also have a meteor mettalic '86.5, but no sport seats and no 2.72 final drive.
Must be rare. See you at Sharktoberfest if I can bail out by then.

You mean it's a US car, factory-equipped with a Euro RnP?

Congrats Shane! I'm like you, in that I love the 86.5. My search for one lead to a lot of heartbreak but in the end I got the 928 I always wanted.

I've seen those pictures before..Where was this car listed for sale?
