Default Roof Antenna

I am in the middle of replacing my old roof antenna. I removed the motor for the sunroof but the metal tubes that connect to the motor don't seem to want to move. I dont want to put to much force on them to move them and end up breaking it, but I can't see how to get access to the nut that holds the antenna in place with out removing it. Any suggestions.

you will have to slightly bend the tubes to see the hole for the socket to remove the nut, a good set of needle nose pliers might do the trick as well to loosen the nut

Okay I finally installed my new antenna and hopefully fixed my elusive water leak as well. The old antenna mast had a round internal gasket which was supposed to seal the square hole that was cut into the roof from the factory. The new antenna came with the square gasket. Installation was not that hard to do, first remove the sunroof motor then push the metal tubes that drive the sunroof forward about two inches to clear access to the old antenna. To remove the old nut I had to cut off the old wires in order to use a socket to get at the nut. Once I removed the old mast and inserted the new one the hardest part was getting the new nut to thread correctly and then screwing down securely in such a small space. I tried standard needle nose pliers, then a small set of needle nose vice grips which just could not get to the nut at a good angle so I ended up buying 30 degree needle nose pliers which worked perfectly.
