Default Racing season begins!! Season Opener- Infinion Raceway this weekend

We start the racing season at 12:30pm on Sunday at Infinion. looks like the usual suspects of guys we have seen out there, sans the 550hp Evo. (he is too busy testing his two Orca ALMS Vipers in LA and wont be around for much of the regular season)

Lets see, i changed the oil (amzoil of course) and added the splitter and hood opening. (oh yeah, checked the timing belt tension) Got to love the 928 as a platform for club racing! all set for the Hobert's car 6th full racing season!
(knock knock!!!)

If anyone is in the area, stop on by on Sunday!
saturday practice and qualifying at 9:20 and 3:00

scot couldnt get the time off to get the engine in. we may do it on wednesday or thursday, but he still needs to break it in, assuming it runs!!!! its totally together, with all the intake and fuel rails in place. all it needs to be is dropped in and etc etc

he also has to bolt on the newer fenders from Dozer that are the same color as his car!! (lucky!) and a little pull on the front chassis area where it is bent in due to the contact with the mazda in the last race.

then, dyno runs and he will be ready with the 5 liter Ljet euro by Laguna next month. (May 5th)

Looks like the race is shaping up to have quite a showing of ITE cars. right now, 18 entries for ITE and 35 overall. (4) S2000s, (4) BMW M3s old and new, mustang, Grand Am corvette, and of course an old original engine, 20 year old 928.

So - maybe it does rain alot in the NW - but there's always a little sunshine on the track.

Here is the good part.... FREE!

its actually a great raing weekend with the Group 3 and our Group 1 races, you see a lot of good action.

our group 1 is, like i said, 13 cars all within a second of each other. i forgot to add the (2) 240Z rebello engine'd racers. its like an old speedvision GT race and the times are about the same too!

the Group 3 race is very cool too. thats where they allow the nascar type racers and the unlimited class like transam cars and the 750hp turbo 911s to run, as well as SCCA GT2/3/4 etc.

Sounds like fun, I'll try to make it. Can we get into the pit area?

absolutely! its one of the great thing about the SCCA events, being in the pits with all the different types of hardware. formula atlantic racers, Trans AM monsters , sports car racers and to many other spec type racers to list, is a lot of fun

Good luck for the Holbert-Holbort-Hibort-Kibort car and driver!
