You would be able to tune the LH specifically to your car, which will take account of all the tolerances that exist of the various components.
This is always going to be more satisfactory than a "one size fits all" chip.

Since your running a fairly custom 928.....I also vote for a complete custom Shark Tuner chipset....figure on several HOURS of dyno time + the shark tuner to get it right.......but it will be the absolute best possible chipset you can have for your 928!!
I would stay away from standard chips....due to your GTS engine.....

These chips show about 16hp increase on a GTS. Most of this is above 3k rpms. Would you notice an improvement? How much would gas mileage be compromised?

John,
Will the shark tuner for the 85/86 take the place of the 2 performance chips currently available?
What's the approx. price?
I bought some cheapo perf. chips on ebay for $99 and I'm always wondering if they are doing anything.
The seatamometer says a couple of HP at most.

The first release of the LH2.2 ST will tune LH only. We intend to then work on the EZ-F for the 85/86 cars next.
I don't sell chip sets (except standard software). I develop and make tuners for modified 928s.
As far as the orignal GTS chip question I would recommend a change back to GTS software in the LH and EZK. If the car is stock, then that is good enough. (assuming MAF and knock sensor/Hall sensors are OK)
If an x pipe or other performance mod is added, then the car would benefit from a SharkTuner session. There are more than a dozen SharkTuners in the USA now and I am sure some of them will be offering SharkTuner sessions to other 928 owners.

John,
Is it OK to use aftermarket EZ-F chips when SharkTuning the LH2.2?

I guess it would be OK, but if these chips give more advance (which I guess they do) I would rarher fit stock chips until I was sure the fuelling was correct, before adding igntion advance.
The ST Autotune algorthm is designed to be "safe" - it moves much faster to richen fuellling than it does to weaken it.
Have you fiited a knock sensor system to your 875/86 car ?
