I do keep a bottle of water in there, and it's nice to have it icy cold after driving one of the open road races in 95 degree desert heat - yes, I race with the AC on, all comfy despite all the Nomex and my drink chilling at 160+ MPH.

Kind of funny that they'd keep chocolates nice and cool to eat, but no place to put a friggin holder for a cold drink to wash down those chocolates!!

Refrigeration in a sea kayak
I have a 17ft sea kayak made in Calif. (where else), it was a relatively expensive unit but for an additional princely sum one can order this same unit with two options -1) a suitable sized battery and CD/stereo unit or, 2)a refrigeration unit run by battery to "keep your wine chilled ."
Both fit in a compartment just in front of the paddler and appear to be waterproof.
I have enuf trouble keeping this thing upright without the extra weight.

Does anybody else see the marketing genius at work here? Gooey brown mustard, name it 'poop on', and convince the commoners that they can be in the same class as Rolls owners if they have a bottle cool in the glovebox in case somebody else needs it while stopped at an intersection? Oh yeah, THAT'S why the AC duct to the glovebox...

Yea, well, I'm no history buff, but we Americans just came to the history table of life! Spices and sweets were considered commodities of the rich back when. Chocolatiers of the past catered to the wealthy as only the wealthy could afford such things. Old world chocolate has become a fine art and still commands a bit of money in the right places and is still considered a "sweet thing" for the wealthy. Certain European countries still hold their chocolates in high regard...like fine wines. There is no question that this was a deciding factor in the glovebox AC decision.

Exactly, but, the glove box is really too cold for good chocolate or for fine white wine.
8C is ideal for white wine and 19C for chocolate.
Maybe it is just to stop your lipstick melting?

My 500SEC has the same feature, and at least in that car it is only active when the HVAC system is set to A/C cooling and does not output anything if it is in heat or vent.
Funny tho that Ed put a bottle of Warsteiner in his glovebox, as this is what my garage fridge is stocked with and I drink when I am working on the shark and feel like a beer...the official shark-brew? :-D
