My GT dynoed at 462RWHP. Add 15% (?) and you have 543 CHP. 3400lbs divided by 543 = 6.26hp/lb
The 430 is 6.5hp/lb so no doubt the 430 would 'toast' me. I don't think the guys are being boastful who say they can be competitive with a Supercar. Maybe a little proud but when you've made the HUGE $$ investments we've made...

And what does 'suffle' mean

I STILL have yet to see a 928 just **** all over all the cars that many say they can. I lived in southern California where so many of these super cars live and have seen several SC'd 928's. NOT ONCE have I witnessed any of these claims. PLEASE MY BROTHERS, get me some footage of these executions so I can too be a believer! I want so much to see the 928 perform as well as claimed by the few on this board. Please shut my stupid *** up and prove me ignorant.

I have noticed that on this board, a sc 928 can kick any cars ***. Strangely, on a ricer board we're unable to keep up with 4 cyl and a fart can.

Interesting, I don't see any posts in this thread that claim a 928 can kick any car's ***

No offense guys, I love the 928, but dont you think this is a whole lot like the Mustange/Camero that wants to race so he can go around boasting ? I kept up, or I smoked him, or I coulda...
It does not matter. The guy was laughing at you. He thought you were a dork for trying.
I think so too.

Jim..thats some seeryass hp! I was in my GTS behind Louie when he was drivng your car and I was doing just fine chasing him back to his house until he decided to actually step on the throttle. I wasn't EVEN gonna respond to that. I know your car is fast as well as several other 928's out there, but when it comes to some of these newer cars, it's all a 928 can do just to keep up with them while their idling..

I'll have to go back and read some of these more carefully, but it sounded like several of the posts were saying an SC'd 928 would make quick work of an F430 or the likes of some other high end cars. Besides, read some of the other posts about challenges and you would think by the owners accounts, an SC'd 928 is likely to be one of the fastest street machines in the world.

Well that's the thing - a lot of these guys have never driven a fast Porsche.
They have driven stock Boxsters or 996's or other cute, slow cars and can't imagine them keeping up with a fast car.
A supercharged v-8 is going to be a fast car.

.

Me included. I am new to this supercharging thing, so I apologize if I've offended anyone with my enthusiasm.

Since mine is an auto, off the line, my car feels as normal, and if I were to engage in street racing (which I do not), I think I would loose many a race.

However, I am very impressed with the rate of acceleration when you are doing say 50 or 60 and drop it into 2nd - holy crap!

Rob-
Don't discount your auto so fast. In a drag race, the 928 auto is faster because it shifts SO much faster than I can in my 5-speed. NOW if we're talking twisties... I think I'll have the edge because I can hold the gear.

If you don't believe me, read this thread, Murphy and I have a virtual drag race. You can totally see how short his sifts are with the auto.

Keith, Listen to you! You have kill stories posted all over the SoCal board. Some in your ex-82 for pete's sake? Why the change of heart? BTW ,you need to drive a 928 on 9psi boost. Your GTS will feel like a honda. My head unit is out for service( only 250mi. on the damn thing, and it fried!) and my car feels like a slug without it even with a 5.5 0-60 time!

The F 430 weight distribution is 57-43 % which is not an insignificant figure...and should not be overlooked.

Kevin, no question about it, I have posted many challenges, mostly for the "story" but those weren't cars like Z06's or F430's. I did run with a Gallardo in the GTS and found that in the rpm/speed range we were in, the GTS faired damn well and by the looks of it all, we were equal. Open road?...Standing start to top end?...not sure if I would be foolish enough to take the challenge. I had also posted a few times at how I was spanked by a twin turbo and some other faster cars. It's all in fun of course, but I think there is a point where our stories get bigger than our "fish".

So not changing the tune, just trying to keep it real when we start discussing street legal factory race cars.

My GTS is a rocket...until I get next to a car that shows me how much of a Slug it really is.

It's all good. I have as much fun in my NA GT as I do my SC'd one, most of the time. Heck the Hennesey Jeep you can buy for $77k is faster than most of us boostards AND the F430... in a straight line of course.
If you're having fun and are proud of your car, good for you.

Keith,
I didn't boast those numbers for very long with the 422. Belt slippage and other issues kept it in the 425 range, I think. It is now being refreshed for it's new owner and we are installing and working out the kinks on the 424. I would like to see 500WHP, we'll see.
