Default would you like to have a carbon fiber door panel?

i am thinking of doing a low-number production of just that.
carbon fiber doorpanels.
they are pretty labor intensive and the carbon and hardware i will use are not cheap. but it will look awesome.
i will whip up some pics soon . but i would like to know from you guys, if there is a market for them and how much you would like to spend on custom made door panels.

I would like just a flat panel for a track car. No arm rest, just a place for the door handle & something to use for closing the door. With a black car, the bare carbon would look great & save some weight. I've been thinking about making my own out of wood or sheet metal. Carbon would be a great option for track cars.

mine would incoperate the leather armrest.
they will have stainless bolts instead of the platic tabs so talking of the panel for whatever reason will be a jiffy and it will give it a sporty look.
hacker what you are talking about is a possibility along the fabrication process of the regular panel-design. right now i an trying to get some ideas on if it actually worth to do all the hassle or if it will be just for my car.

When you say door panels are you only talking about the rectangular insert that goes around the handle assy or are you talking about the entire interior door skin?

I'm sure some may want them, assuming they don't end up looking too 'rice'.

Is your plan to sell them here on Rennlist?

My originals are fine, spending money on this kind of "enhancement" would be way down on my list, I'm not being cheeky but maybe another option of "happy with what I have" may give you a true base line on your poll.

no fabio,
i am talking about the entire panel
minus the armrest and little flap, that will stay in leather, but i may letherique or SEM them..
the little flap can be done in carbon as well, but i think it would look rather odd.

Ceedee. I know you started on this path because your dorr panels were broken. There are replacement panels available. I remember seeing a link about a year ago to a person in Australia who was making them.

Why not just make them out of aluminum? Same material as the DOOR! It might look cool and probably less expensive too.

CeeDee have you ever made anything out of fiberglass ? because first you need a plug of what you want then you make a mold from the plug and then you can start making the actual parts in your mold. Paying someone to make a relatively simple mold is easily $1,000, one for a door panel ????
