These things happen. All one can do, is be thankful that they were fortunate enough to have lived the dream. Better to have loved and lost, than never to have loved at all.

Best to you!

Unfortunately, 928 ownership is like an addiction. Once you sell and go cold turkey, it really really hurts. And it might never stop hurting. The temptation will always be there.
HEY! Now cut that out!!! It's hard enough as it is!!!

Ahhh Doc, its a shame to see you sell your incredible Shark. You've worked so hard to get it in such great shape....all for someone else to enjoy now. For certain a lucky buyer whomever that ends up being. Best Wishes!

You have got to be kidding me. What a shame for us Bigs, I was really looking forward to meeting you. I understand and agree with your decision though. Life is more important than a car, or any other "thing".

I wish you great peace and blessings in your new schedule Bigs, I'd like you to know that your input here has proven you to be nothing but a top notch gentleman and genuinely nice guy.

Bigs, You know you're gonna regret this. But what's the old saying... "Tis better to have loved and lost, than to have never loved at all." You will always have a soft spot in your heart for this car, but after all that's all it is... a car, right?

WRONG!
You currently have what many consider to be the pinnacle of automotive achievements from the 90's (less the McLaren F1). Why would you give up something so wonderful? If you were replacing it with something a bit more modern, I could understand, but to just sell it, would be like... well... I don't know, but it's not good.

If you really do decide to focus your attention on songwriting, Let em offer some possible song titles for your first album, "Gynecology Gone Country":
"Take a deep breath"
"You're gonna feel a little pinch..."
"Ohh. That doesn't look good"
"Damn Girl! What's that smell?"
"Douche"
"Labia Majora"
"****-o-ris"
"Gonorrhea"

Good luck.

Actually, the two best country titles - that I've never dared use quite yet - are:

1. It's Hard To Kiss The Lips At Night That Chew My *** All Day! And...

2. You'll Get Over Him If You Get Under Me!

Bigs...take a big deep hard breath and re-think this to make sure it’s the right move...although I'm sure you already have.

Not a day goes by that I don't think about my previous Shark...and the time in between those days I think about my next shark.

Pound for pound it’s about the best dollar you can spend for a bit of serenity in one’s life. I too had to sacrifice my Shark to reach a few goals…but know this…you’ll get another.

You give good advice.

I have indeed agonized about this for a lonnnnnng time. And it's not a situation where I ABSOLUTELY MUST sell the car.

But I'm about 6 months away from the big 6-0.

My wife is about halfway through a rather major renovation of our home and still has a fair bit to go. And the house is 22 years old, so it really needs it. So I don't begrudge her that expenditure at all.

But at my age, I'm just getting really weary of the grind of 10-14 hour days at work.

I have an opportunity to work 6-hour days Monday thru Friday, 0700 to 1300, plus one 3-hour evening shift a week. The thought of being done with work and going home at 1:00 p.m. almost makes me weak (and weep!) with joy!

If I indeed choose to do that, it will be financially a good bit easier if I reduce my debt.

So... I made the choice to at least put the car up for sale. I'm willing to dicker a little on the price, but not a lot. If someone wants it and will give it a good home, great! If it just doesn't sell... well there are worse things to keep spending one's money on than this car!

I'm glad you decided to keep a hand in, both here and at work.

No pun intended, I'm just lucky that way.

Not a good day, indeed. 1st a colonoscopy, then Bigs selling up.

Sounds like a pretty complete deal...
BTW, is the garage (shown above) included ?

G'luck all.

Bigs...

great car...meticulously cared for...beautiful...proven....ready for anything....great deal...great man...and those who are Big's friend certainly are blessed. He has his head screwed on right....dispenses sound advice every time..and great and wonderful asset to us all. You won't find many better or friendly people than Bigs....hope you hang around Rennlist a long time...and recover from your lack of a Pcar.

I always like to help my fellow 928 owners. But in this case, I'm not 100% convinced, if helping bigs sell this car is really such a good thing. I mean, if it's sold, I'd like to see it go to another nice home. But if it could stay in the current excellent home, I'd see this as the most desirable option.

Maybe we should just stop talking about the car and let this thread fall back. And let bigs continue to enjoy the climax of motoring. I mean, as a gynaecologist, one should know that life without the occasional climax is not exactly the most desirable...

Bigs, I got laid-off, but the car stays. Find the money somewhere else.
