Hi Ernie,
Well it's not a Weisach special option model for 82, it is a clean looking 928. I don't agree with the installation of a Chebby engine, but it's been done before and the workmanship of the whole project looks good. I think he's out of his mind with a starting bid of $9K. . . wasn't it Barnum that said a sucker is born every day!

This Porsche 928 has had its drive train professionally changed from the boring Porsche V8 into a fast & furious street or track car powered by a modified Chevy LT1 engine. Not only does this engine provide more power, it is easier and cheaper to work on and maintain.
...Boring...I should bitch-slap this guy just for being F'N STUPID
EDIT: OK...I just emailed him to illustrate how stupid his statement is.

For the life of me, I do not understand what possesses people to do these swap outs. I can understand putting a v6 in where a 4 banger was or a v8 where a 6 was. I do not understand why anyone would go to the considerable trouble of swapping out a Porsche 8 for a Chevy 8. Hell even if the original engine was blown to bits, it has to be cheaper to purchase a used engine, refresh it and go with that approach.
This confuses me to no end. I like projects and all, but this seems to be the pinnacle of a make-work exercise. And you have to know that no one is going to pay you what you have in a frankenstein like this. Waste of time and money is what it seems to me, nothing more.

Tim;
Did you by chance email that dude on Ebay with the busted up D90 rim?
If he can get 18 large for an 82 Porchev, I'm gonna convert all of my 928's to Bowties. I'll make a fortune. Forget about hitting the lottery.

Scott...Guess I missed that one. Think I saw a thread on it tho...some and such.
Good point Adam!!! BOOM DA DE BOOM BOOM DA DE BOOM
I could be talking out my but who the hell here would buy that and if so, why? Maybe to track but I just don't know.
The V8 is the 928. He claims his LT-1 will blow away 928's and to that I sayME!...well, maybe what he's really saying is the original body (Corvette) meant for the LT-1 just handles like **** compared to a 928
I'm usually pretty unopinionated about speaker placement, but this one needs a do-over.

Well, to make you guys feel better, I just saved a 928 from the same fate.
The car I bought sans engine was supposed to get the LT1 treatment as well...luckily the guy must have ran out of money or time, off'd it on ebay with no engine, bits and pieces here and there missing and a butchered engine harness. Well, someone from CT bought the car but had quite a bit of Porsche surplus in his yard and shop and I guess wanted to unload some of it, so I purchased the car and a parts car with engine to go with it.
So at least that one will not go down Chevy alley but get back what it deserves...a GREAT V8 made in Baden Wuerttemberg ;-)
Marcus.
