Need (purchase) advice on 86 928s

Did we ever determine if this was an 86.5. I think that this makes a difference in what the car is worth (at least to me it does) I looked back through the posts and did not see if the VIN ended in >1000.

I agree with Bimmermike. I was a car salesman myself.
Hey, it is only a car.
Remember the advice that he who cares the least wins? Obviously you want to play with them and not simply buy the car. Go play. It is hard to beat an experienced closer, but as Mike explained, they will not let you walk if they think they have a deal. Why be afraid of them. I once drove into a Porsche dealer with my VW running on three cylinders. (of course they didn't know that. So it was running a little "rough". ) I needed a car. I was a salesman and put about 10,000 miles in one or two months on my cars. And they had a practically new '66 911 Irish Green sitting on their lot. I wanted it. And they wanted to sell it. And two hours later I drove off with it and they had my VW and my promise to pay for the 911. What's the problem. We both got what we want......after a little push and shove. What's the problem?? Take the advice given here by all of these perceptive individuals or walk away from it and save the worry and pain for a REAL problem. Sheesh!! Just a car. What's the big deal? To tell you the truth, I'm so weary of this I'm going to go take a nap.

My GF hated my 2nd Esprit so much I sold it. Won't make that mistake again.
If you do get the car, do it NOW before I drive the 3 hours there tomorrow and buy it. Don't make me run a Mapquest. But if all else fails bring it to my shop and we can play cars.
