Loaded straight up with me on firefox , at least up till I tried to open Engine in the workshop manual.
I'll add that I have the latest version as well , ver. 2.0.0.2.

I'm looking forward to the finished product and future updates. Are you collaborating with Jim M?

Do you have the Flash Player installed?
http://www.adobe.com/shockwave/downl...ShockwaveFlash

Works for me on IE6. Should work on Firefox, IE7, etc.

Nice work, TMax.

Looks nice, and will definitely be very handy but it would be nice to shorten the transitions/animations once you're in the interface. Don't get me wrong, it's a cool transition, but at some point, flipping back and forth between sections, it's bound to get a little tedious.

Are you planning to use Jim's work for this? Have you talked with him about it at all?

OK, here’s an update!

A view of the interface V1.0 (beta)

Now here’s the catch! Due to the fact that without an external exe program I am unable to use relative links from flash to your computer (I'm told it’s a security issue).

What this means is that your files must go on a specific drive in a specific folder and sub-folders, in order for it to work.

I have written two version of this application:

One for those with their “My Documents” on the C: drive (928_tech_v.1.0c) and )One for those of us with their “My Documents” on the D: drive (928_tech_v1.0d )!

Here is what you will need to do:

1. Create a folder called “p.tech” within your “My Documents” folder.
2. Create a folder called “workshop.manuals” within your new “p.tech” folder.
3. Create a folder called “928” within you new “workshop.manuals” folder.
4. Copy your 928 workshop manuals to the 928 folder.

________________________________________________________________

It is important that you name the “p.tech”, “workshop.manuals” and “928” as they appear here or it won’t work!

Here are some images that should help some people

This is what my p.tech folder looks like; yours will only have the “workshop.manuals” sub-folder in it!

This is what my “workshop.manuals” folder looks like; yours will only have the “928” sub-folder in it!

This is what my “928” folder looks like; yours should look the same!

Yo-
you have been busy, very impressed!
When are you going to make it to Aggieland again? I have the same projects, and in the same stages; could use someone to actually implement.....
Cheers,

Can you make the location configurable? If you use a URI then people who want to do as you suggest could enter something like file://C:/My%10Documents/p.tech and people like me who get the heebie-jeebies about letting a public site access my hard drive could put the WSMs on a different machine. For example, I could have one copy of the WSMs on one of my Solaris machines here at home, and I could tell your flash thingy to look in http://192.168.1.5/p.tech.

This could maybe be passed in as a parameter and bookmarked, like so:

There has to be a way around that folder thing. Something like put all files into one folder and store path into simple ini-file thus allow it to be edited easily. I hate My Documents.
