Default 4 Post lift delivered today

My Dannmar 7000# 4-post lift was delivered today. I have to dismantle it from the crate at my friends workplace and bring it to my house one peice at a time to put it together. It looks like a weekend project. It has a lot of parts. I can't wait to use it. Little does my wife know but once I finish all of my underbody work there will be enough room for another 928 underneath!

Nice lift!
One guy that does antique auto restoration here in Oregon has a 4-post that is portable and doesn't require being anchored to the concrete - does yours require bolts or is it portable?

Very nice - now all you need is the next 928.
Just tell her it appeared overnight - kooboom!

One you have used a lift, you'll wonder how you ever did without!

That is awesome! Good luck with it.

Those of us using creepers are really jealous . Enjoy and good luck. Be safe with it.

The wife will be thrilled to hear it came with a free, used 928 which will be delivered in a month or two or three.

Hi Charles,

Please provide a review as you go, or when you are done. I suspect I will go with a similar lift at some point. I like the portable concept. Does that mean it is not anchored in the floor?

Stan,

It's not anchored to the floor. It came with 4 removable casters that allow it to be rolled where you need it. I'm still reading the directions and don't know yet if it can be rolled with the car on it. I probably wouldn't roll it with the car on it anyway. I will probably roll it outside empty and then put the car on it to do some underneath cleaning with a pressure washer. After that I have no need to move it again. I'll keep you posted. So far it looks like a real nice lift. It also came with plastic drip pans so the bottom car (hopefully a 86.5 5-speed one day soon) doesn't get dripped on and a cross beam for a couple bottle jacks to jack up the front or rear while on the lift for brake jobs and such.

Nice! I'm hoping to score a two post lift one of these days.

And I had to laugh when you mentioned a 2nd 928 suddenly appearing.

I just made a deal with a guy to buy an old '75 Husky 250 dirt bike. It will be my second one and I haven't figured out how to tell the wife. I'm pretty sure she won't be too thrilled about it. I usually wouldn't buy something like this without at least informing her, but since I knew she probably wouldn't go for this one (using the old "how many dirtbikes do you need?" argument), I just made the deal and will be picking it up next Tuesday.

I'm seriously considering just parking it in the garage and not saying anything about and seeing if she will ever notice it.

I used to have an old Husky. I think it was 360cc. I think it was late 60's vintage. Had a 4 speed trans and right side shift. You had to "tickle" the carb to start it. I was racing a KX-250 at the time and thought it would be neat to have. What a dinosaur compared to modern bikes. I don't know how guys raced those things and survived. FYI Ed, there is a show called last man standing on Sat that I'm sure you will enjoy.

Nice. And yes, the old bikes are dinosaurs for sure, but still fun to work on and putt around on. I've got an '04 KTM 250 for my regular trail riding.

And yes, I've heard of the Last Man Standing race, very brutal, but haven't seen it myself. Thanks for the tip.
