Default 1992 GTS user guide

Hi,
A friend of mine is looking for a user guide of a GTS (pref the 1992 booklet). Must be in English. His understanding of the German user manual is not great at all. Does anyone have a PDF version of the user guide to download?
Thanks
Theo

There was no GTS model in '92.

Actually, there is no 928 with a 1992 model year designation.

Randy, back to school for you. There is close to 1000 GTS with '92 N VIN. They all are ROW cars.

Theo, I have scanned owners manual in PDF format which has both German and English pages on top of each other. Can email it to you.

Hah - you got me Erkka!

When I was typing that I thought I was wrong - I knew there was something not made in 1992 - the GT as it turns out, so I went to www.928registry.org - my go-to resource for model year info. They list NO 1992 model for the 928.

Who's in charge over there? They need to be next in line for a whippin' after me.

Don't know who is in charge but its not you.

Chuck's site caters for mainly US models and owners. Thus it forgets there were normal '92 MY Euro GTS made at least between 12/91 - 08/92. At least because I suspect even ROW production was halted for a while in 08/91 - ??/91 to allow dealers sell off still too many unsold S4's an GT's they had in stock.

There weren't M718 VIN change done in ROW cars. Mine is for example real '92 MY N VIN GTS and I know many others also. In fact N is most common MY GTS which exists as '93 MY production was smaller even when early '93 US cars are counted into '93 total. There were 955 ROW's done in '92 and 621 in '93 MY.

Total GTS production is based on published VIN's:

Code:
             ROW US Total
----------------------------
1992 955
1993 Early 88 1043
1993 621 102 723
1994 523 139 662
1995 399 77 476
----------------------------
Total 2498 406 2904
Problem with above numbers is that they do not add up compared to production numbers given by Jörg Austen:

Code:
             ROW US Total
----------------------------
1992 955 955
1993 621 190 811
1994 523 139 662
1995 325 78 403
----------------------------
Total 2424 407 2831
Largest error is in '95 MY ROW numbers. To make some sense into this we would at least know as many high VIN ROW '95 models as possible. In any case there were probably somewhere between 2850-2950 GTS made worldwide when all 0001-0060 VIN prototypes are also counted.

I suspect there were at least one '92 MY US model done. Silver car was used already in middle of summer '91 to make US model brochure. Also 19 of '94 MY US should really be counted as '93 MY as in reality all parts in them are '93 MY style parts. Only change was M718 VIN year change to make them easier to sell.

Why is it when Erkka quotes something all I ever see is "Code:" followed by a grey bar?

Something in your display options maybe?

If you quote Erkka's post you should see the raw display commands, bracket CODE bracket then the info that the rest of use see in a gray box same as quoted info, then bracket /CODE bracket.

Look at your user settings, unless its browser related?

Here is your quote using the same CODE stuff instead, do you see it?

Here is a 92 Service Information Manual that I have. There is also another hard back booklet in English and German. Not sure if this is what you were asking or if you wanted the Owners Manual?

Hi all,
Errka is right. I own a 1992 GTS and that friend of mine too, so I'm pretty sure there are at least 2 of them I'm interested in the English owners manual in PDF. I can read German language without any difficulty, but my buddy doesn't so he's still discovering new functions on a weekly basis ....

->Erkka: if you could upload or email it that would be really fantastic.
->Jerry: thanks you for your offer, but it is the owners manual he needs.

Kind regards,
Theo

Change his cars language to english. I'm surprised you haven't done already. Instructions are in here somewhere in case you didn't know its possible.

Who is the Jörg Austen referred to earlier?
Why are his numbers significant?
