Alarm bypass/kill switch (87S4)
I just found these 2 pics i had from my car. Its shows the loop and connection to bypass the factory alarm. I posted these as i see this come up now and then and could never recall where my pics were...this was on an 87S4 withOUT the factory alarm ever installed.
The original wiring originates at pins 1 and 4.....the wires go into a connector and simply form a loop. This connector is up above the fuse panel/below the glove box.. The splicing you see was done be me and part of a kill switch i added. If you place a switch inline with that "loop" you can disable your car.
If you simply want to bypass it to test something..just loop 1 and 4 together.

Does anyone know if what Tony posted in the original post is a good solution to installing a start- disabling switch on my MY? I'm looking to install a switch that I can hide somewhere inside the car that I can use to disable the car from starting. The PO had the factory alarm removed and a Clifford alarm system installed but it doesn't appear to work. I really don't think anyone is going to steal the car for parts but I'd like to try to prevent it from being taken for a joy ride.

It would work fine, but so would a simple disable switch in line with the (50) starter connection to the relay (most years).
I like that a little more - better to have something that worst case stops it from starting rather than worst case stops it running (e.g. this can possible include while you are moving...)

i have the factory alarm and want to completely disable it. it goes off randomly, and i'd rather not allow it to leave me stranded someday.
i've read the control module is "behind the glove box", "above the fuse box", and "behind the radio". ????
i just want to jumper it and be done with it, but i don't want to take the entire interior apart looking for it - there seems to be lots of info for pre-87 and post-87 cars, but not 87's!
