I worked for both UPS and Fedex while in college and I too have seen it all.

I'm a packaging fiend now, nothing leaves me without being packed to survive a war zone. -Ed

Actually they have bags that contain this stuff..you place your things in the box, then break the internal pouches in thr bag, chemicals mix.. and it expands.

You mean expanding foam insulation? I’ve seen many companies using that for shipping but they spray it into plastic bags and then put them in the box with the shipping item. This way when the foam sets the part stays in the middle.
