Default Modified H-pipe for sale (ebay)

Just a heads up for those that may have plugged cats and seek a bit more HP.

http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eB...romZR40QQfviZ1

I have a modified H-pipe up on Ebay. Modified in the sense that i had glass pack "mufflers" welded in. This pipe was used on my car and most recently Dariens car and saw over 400 RWHP through it.....it flows fine and is a little bit quieter than the "traditional" H-pipe. It is known to fit 86 and newer 928s with stock headers.
perhaps someone knows if it fits earlier models also?? I dont know?

starting at $180.00

You can post quesiton here if you like.

Hey, I have one of those as well. After yours sells, I'll put mine up for sale. Thanks for reminding me that I need to go through the side shed.

That's a great price considering the mufflers added It was definately quieter than my other H-pipe without mufflers!!

Tony,

It will fit the '85 as well. I have the same one on mine. All 32V cats are the same.

I’ve came across something interesting when installing the H-pipe. Since my air pump was already removed I’ve decided to cut the tube off at the base and then weld the hole shut. To my surprise when the tube was cut there was no hole in the H-pipe. The air tube was welded to the pipe and no holes were ever cut. Now this could be a manufacturing error OR all of them were made this way. This would create strain on the air pump, wouldn’t it? The location of the air tube connection makes it impossible to see if the is a hole or not.

Tony: Who made this? I would have jumped on it when I was looking, none of the complaints I had about Dave's. Damn.

I bought the H many years ago from Chris Lockhart, i think. Where he got it from im not sure.

I added the glass packs to it a few years ago. Thye toned the sound down a bit and at a quick glance under the car they look like cats ..i stripped the red paint off them.
They are solid.

How early? Mine is an '85 # 174 and had dual cats, just like all the other 32V 928s.

Imo, not sure when they went to dual, but I've owned both types of '85's.

How does this compare to the X-Pipe in performance terms?
