Hopefully there's a quick recovery.

So there is 56 HP to gain on the 32v 85/86 motor by going to the Motorsport x-pipe and 2.5 inch dual exhaust!!
No, the gains are not accumulative. If I was to guess, Id' say that the X-Pipe plus our exhaust might give a 38 to 42 HP improvement. If I have time, I'll try it and see.

Carl,
38-42hp is good enough for me. Where else can you net that kind of gain for around 1500 smackers!.

I think my muffler's going... Um, I was just barely able to get my car got through inspection with the new catalytic converters (crossovers !) and the rest of the exhaust system is 20+ years old, and well, it's probably just about to go.

Sorry everyone, just rehearsing.

Default Pricing

I am getting emails regards pricing for the kits:

I still want to hear from Ed as to how the fit is on his 91, but we have fitted and tested them on the 85 with very good results (above)

Here is how I think the pricing will go:

MY 1987-1995, SS Dual Exhaust Pipe Set with Hi-Flow Mufflers, $697.50

MY 1985-1986, "True Dual" Exhaust kit - takes your current 2-into-one exhaust and upgrades it to the 1997-and-up "True Dual" exhaust.
Includes:
> SS Dual Exhaust Pipe Set with Hi-Flow Mufflers
> SS Rear Muffler ByPass with behind-the-tire exit for the '85, '86
> 2 custom strap hangers with hardware
> 1 custom aluminum heat shield w/ 3 Stainless Steel clamps,
> 2 used Porsche exhaust donut gaskets and clamps
> all new hardware
> installation instructions
Total: $1,122.00

Dyno-tested to produce 28 HP and a really nice exhaust note. All Stainless - no rust, not ever.

Carl, when do you think you will start shipping the '85-'86 version?

Guys, when I receive my setup from Carl, I'll post some feedback, and send him some wav files. Carl, don't forget to send my tracking info....

Just got off the phone with Stebro. They say I'll have the pipes on about April 1st.
I ordered 10 pair.

Hi Carl,

I already had a custom "true 2.5 dual exhaust" made for my early 86S (almost identical to yours). It is a tad to loud with two resonators and one rear two in two out magnaflow muffler.
Will stebro sell you two mufflers?.
I would like to replace my resonators with the stebro units and install your rear muffler bypass.

Thanks Rich

Default Video+Audio available

I recorded the best audio I could - it is the last clip listed on this page:
http://www.928m.com/ourvideos.html

It has in-car, out of car, behind-the-car, and drive-by exhaust sounds for you.
