Ouch... it always amazes me how people can do this stuff, and think they have fixed anything. Even my girlfriend thought I was nuts for soldering & heat-shrinking some surround speaker wires in the living room: "Can't we just twist them together and tape them?" "NO!!!"

UGLY !!

I dunno, Roger, those splices look too clean...
anachronistic in a 20-year old car.

G'luck.

Jim,
You raise an interesting question and I do not know the answer.
The really bad splice was within 6" of the round plug that locates on the fan control in front of the rad on the passenger side and tucked under the fender lip.
The second was in the harness going down to the first fan connector.
Cannot see a reason for the cuts in the first place.
Roger

Yuck, that looks like a Porsche Cars UK "factory" alarm installation. I kid not.

The secret to the 928 is the 50/50 balance, bad ground points save you from the shorted wiring.

This proves that electrical tape should be placed on the banned substances list along with starter fluid.

Wink

Rog,
Looks like what I found during my Radio swap.
Of course, you may argue that as long as the console covers things up...
its all good.
Really, I don't have a problem with the twist and tape, especially if its fused...
Besides. I'll bet you reduced that pesky parasitic drag by a milli-amp or two.
Thanks for the horror flicks.
I'm sure the guy's who were looking for their horns, missing headlight motor C clips, etc... will add this to the things to do list.
You know what they say;
Hydrogen and ignorance are the two most common elements in the universe.

Another electrical save by Roger. The rest of the car is pretty nice. I agree on the train wreck analogy, I just couldn't look away....

Wow, and I thought my wiring nightmare was bad.

Best of luck on getting it worked out.

I'm still working on mine.
