The CL600 was NA from 1993 to 2002. Starting in 2003 the CL600 was fitted with twin-turbos. Stock, the 2003 and later CL600 has 493 hp and 580 lb-ft of torque available at 1800 rpm. The CL600 will also run mid to low 12's stock. However, the CL600 has some incredibly untapped power and can be easily upgraded to 670 hp with an ECU mod and different air box. I gained over 126 RWHP with just the ECU tune from stock. My stage 1 Renntech CL600 put down over 524 RWHP. It's also capable of mid to low 11's in the 1/4 mile.

One bummer or benefit of 600 series Benz's is the high depreciation curve....bad if you bought it new...great if you buy it used!!
So pick up a 03-04 twin turbo 600 series (CL depreciate the fastest, SL's the slowest) for less than 1/2 the price of a new one.....drop a few $$$ at renntech and throw down 524hp like you did.....an 11's second monster that is very luxurious and comfortable too!! Bummer you weren't closer I would love to go for a ride in it!!

That's exactly what I did. It's a monster than you can drive all day every day in pure comfort. It also handles extremely will with the Active Body Ccontrol suspension; in fact, it has much less body roll than my 928.

Oh $hit! That car was like $125k when new only a few years ago! I wouldn't even sell my '94 GTS with slightly more miles on it for 2X that asking price! DAMN!

I'd like to have one for family road trips but even with all that power it's hauling around too much excess weight to replace my SuperShark for those solo drives.

Maybe a slogan is in order for Supercharged 928's---
"The 928 SC, humbling ******* headed for Starbucks who were showing off for the bimbos."
"Making strokes everywhere trade in their new supercars for something more....SUPER."
"The reason why there are alot of used higher HP cars for sale that did not impress the previous owner."

dang, that is a deal! My guess there are more out there as well...not just MB either! I imagine the TT Peppers will be a good deal soon, if not already.

They already are....seen more than a few at around 30k....and still dropping.. now that would make a nice tow rig for my track car

the CL55 AMG's are awesome for sure. evil rob has tried keeping up w/them on several occasions on open freeways, and the best he has done is hold steady w/them from a rolling start up to about 145 mph. and they can keep accelerating like rockets even from that speed!
iirc, the high end MB hot rods have a dual fuel distribution system that is great... until it pukes. then it's 3500.00 to R&R - each. (yes, that's 7k total for a complete fuel ECU OH)... chicken feed for a 100k car, but that bargain price buyer could have a rude surprise and heart attack w/repairs like that....
but they do have cupholders....
might want to check this out: http://grandprixregion.com/Documents...0Autocross.pdf
not a drag strip, but a real road course where you don't have to worry about going to prison, etc and really let'er rip... on the front straight, triple digits are easy to get, and the back bowl is a riot w/a great banked turn, lots of fast twisties too. a perfect track for a 928 to shred
just have to pass a basic safety inspection, have a helmet and be ready to drive like a demon would be cool to get a bunch of 928's out there one of these times. I'm usually the only 928 in a field of some very nice sports cars (TT and other 911 variants, lambos, audi's, etc), and usually finish mid pack w/about 75 cars. I'm sure blown 928's would do quite well there and have a blast in the process

MB vehicles from the early part of this decade are cheap, because they're ****. They're great when they're functioning properly, but that rarely happens. MB has even admitted as much.
