Hi Travis:

Welcome to Shark-ownership, and to norcal928 - our local support group.

Hope to meet you in person at one of the upcoming events!

Travis,

Welcome! Come on in, the water's fine.

You've gotten your Rennlist membership, that was the best investment you could have made in your car.

The next one IMHO is to contact Jim Morehouse for his CD set that includes the PET-6 parts program, WSMs and lots, lots more (no, I'm not on commission ).

Good luck and we need to see some pix .

Default Fuel leak - breather hose

Thanks Casey for the fuel leak thread.

I checked all the usual suspects, then when didn't find the leak, filled it up again and it started dumping fuel before I even put the nozzle back on the pump. It's coming from the back right behind the tail light assembly. I checked PET and I'll put money on it that it's this hose:

!dammit, this thing won't let me post links...

Looks like I'll have to drop the tank or take off the back bumper to get to this?

If so? I might as well change the bumper cover while I'm at it. Anyone know where I can find a used black one? They've got em at Parts Heaven for ~$200, but not the right color.

PS: yeah , Chaadster, that's actually what spawned the name --the great white's number of teeth it goes through in it's lifetime --thx for pointing that out.

Also, pics are coming, unfortunately I need to wait until I get my camera back from Canon --I...uhhhh... jumped in the pool with it in Mexico after a little too much tequila. :P

Travis,

I did most of what you are scheduled for about a year ago. I can come down and let you take my 81 out for a spin so you can drool and know how much the new parts make a difference in ride and handling

Cheers,

Andre,

For Sure! I tell you what, you don't need to come here. I'll drive up to Concord... and buy you a beer!

Funny how many 928 repairs require beer and/or pizza.

With my avatar, do you really think it is safe to hand me a beer and a wrench?

You don't really carry that hand puppet around with you? Heck, I'd buy you a few beers just to watch.

Judging that you own THREE 928s, I'd say it's safe to say that it wouldn't be the first you've done something deemed... irresponsible.

btw: the interior on your '77, is that original?! It's got me salivating!

Congrats and welcome to shark ownership. Sounds like a good sized list but with patience and time you'll be rewarded with a great ride.

Yeah it is original with 206K K on the dial with all the hardware rebuilt at its place of origin. It was a one owner, and I can't import it to california without federalization of it

Welcome Travis, great username you picked there! Trust me, your wife has only just begun to roll her eyes at you... give it time... Pretty good sized list of stuff there. Remember, PS fluid is flammable too, and your alternator won't like bathing in it! Looks like you're on the right track looking at that u-shaped hose -- especially if your leaks are coming out where mine were.... see pic below. There are a few other hoses you might want to replace while you're in there, especially 20, 21 & 22, new grommet(4 & 5) etc.. Do that first so you don't burn it to the ground, then PS(same reason) seal kit($12) and the other stuff will come together in time.

Hey, I work in Sunnyvale at Yahoo, so if you've got time we should get together and introduce the twins (yours being the richer, healthier and prettier one)

Thx Travis... Yeah, I work right down the street from you, at NetApp. We'll definitely have to hook up one day!
