Default X Pipe No Cats RMB now installed, LOVE IT

I just finished and took the beast for a ride, neighbor has the last year R X 7 Twin Turbo and he went for a ride as well. He really likes the car.

So much has been said about the drone and noise of this set up and I must say I LOVE IT. We went on the highway and there is a drone but nothing like I was thinking it was going to be it is there I think when we are crusing with the radio on and the windows down this summer it won't even be noticed. I will be pickeing my wife up from work and get here report. If the weather is good tomorrow we were thinking of taken a road trip to Lake Erie to give the car a good feel. Maybe the bigger resonators of the 87 make the difference and it is possible that after a while I take the RMB off time will tell.

One thing that made the drone, pretty much go away, was to put the sound pads that were orininally in the car back in. Took a bit of hunting but found some on e-bay. It made the inside VERY quiet while it sounds great outside.

I'm still looking for the trunk pad tho.

Congrats on a well done job.

Just pull up the floor mats/carpet, there should be some black foamy stuff down there. If you do, very nice.

The 87 has the largest resonators of all of the S4s. Enjoy the BWAAAAAAH.

Yeah, I think having an 87 helps. 89+ resonators don't produce as nice a sound under these circumstances.

Enjoy the extra 20-30 HP and torque!

Just picked up my wife from work, She LOVES it and really loves it when a Stomp on it. We then went for dinner and then took the long way home on the highway and she said crusing at 70 was not bad at all that in the summer with the windows down and the radio going it was just fine. I then did a feel for the SC, I said wait till we have the SC on and she was fine with that and even offered to get a 2nd job to pay for it, (just kidding, no really was a flat out lie)

Wolf Pack
What do you do with your O2 sensor when you have this kind of setup? Just unplug it??

No on the unplug, I was told if you unplug it your check engine light will come on and need to be reset I tried to get my old one out and broke it and had to buy a new one. After the X Pipe was installed getting to the O 2 is very simple.

I doubt you'll get a check engine light on an 87. I'm suprised you are OK with the sound level, I have driven an 87 with X and RMB, damn it is loud and the drone is pretty irritating IMO. To each their own.

It was nice here Sat cold but no snow, Ranae and I took the car to the lake for a trial run for this summer it is about a 150 mile round trip to get a feel for the new set up. Plus we just have not driven the car much since buying it. Doing 70 there is the dredded drone and I can see that for a long trip it would be a LONG trip. But for us driving to Lake Erie on weekends and for around town it has a very nice sound. We can go 2 different ways going to and from the lake with one of the ways being 65 mph most of the way ther and the other being 55 mph all the way home. When behind someone and wanting to pass stomping it droping this set up to 2nd gear and getting above the 4K rpm is like having a Jet take off in your face. Very nice and I wonder what the people thought when I went roaring past. I wonder if they thought we were eating airline food. My wife has made the comment allot that she really likes it when I stomp on it, No she does not have a sister that is single.

So we are happy with the set up so far and really love having a V 8. Plus the 928 is a more comfortable car then the 951. More room for us up front and we picked up so groceries and more room for those as well. It is a great car and I can see we will be really enjoying it for a long time.
