Sure thing. Unfortunately I didn't check rennlist while at home so I'll take 'em today, post 'em after I get home from work (Friday afternoon).

Okay, here are my pics. Not so great but you kinda get the idea. It's carpeted with a place for the amp and two 10"s... let me know if anyone's interested.

You guys got me thinking about doing something similar. The rear seats are basically useless and it adds the ability to add storage compartments or a sub without getting in the way of the battery/spare. I recently installed a powered subwoofer attached to the rear seat when folded down for a quick upgrade to the stereo but it looks tacky and I lose the rear seat storage that I sometimes need.

Laufen,

Is that a removable section in the center where it bolts to the center console bolts? That's a cool idea. I think I remember seeing yours in the post that Jim started last year.

Doesn't that Muffler mod make a lot of noise ?

Looks great, glad I'm not alone. Not to hijack the post, but I'd like suggestions on type of covering also, carpet, vinyl, paint? I think carpet is the consensus?
all is fiberglass. Any others for ideas?

What can I say? I *LOVE* my exhaust note! And CO2!

I haven't unbolted the speakers, yet, to be honest. I'm really curious as to how 'stripped down' it really is. The stereo was all in place before I bought the car. I'll probably start work on the shark at the beginning of February.

On a related (bass) note, has anyone experimented with "bass shakers"? (e.g., http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll...m=300071785125)

NineTwoAter,

Nice setup. Very clean, thanks for posting the pics. Nice fiberglass work. Are you going to have hatches where those other two cutouts are or is something else slated for there?

So far I think mine is the only one that comes up above the rear section from back to front. Like the box someone put up there higher than the rest at the front for a sub and two rear speakers. The reason I'm thinking maybe a split between carpet down low and upholstery up high is because mine is higher than most and I think it will bring it together with the rest of the car. The top half of the doors and interior is black vinyl, and the bottom half and floor are beige carpet. I think if I bring the carpet up the back and over into the rear area it will look odd up that high.

I'm also still shopping for hatch hardware, everything I find seems to be for wood cabinets and I want more of a match with an auto interior. Jim's hatches are perfect, so I may just follow in his footsteps somehow.

Anyone ever think about making it a 3-seater? Right now my driver's side rear seat is useless because of the amp on top but I have used the passenger rear seat for short trips. I'm thinking of just deleting the driver's side rear seat. Sterling's setup looks really nice also.

NJShark,
the amp and x-over will be in the holes, covered by plexi.
All the panels make squeeks and creeks agains eachother and the body, anybody have the same problem?

NineTwoAter,

Cool. I've heard other reference to the squeaking panels. I'm sure Jim M. and Sterling (the two best examples I've seen so far IMO) don't have this problem because Jim has them in a horizontal flat area and they're desiged as automotive doors, and Sterling's are carpeted (I think) around the door.

I'm actually thinking now that I might not put doors on there at all, since the space in mine is swept back and would barely give more than a cubic foot of oddly shaped storage anyway. Maybe I'll just keep it closed until I put in the stereo and save the space for that. Another option I considered was to move the battery into the space behind the driver so that that weight is moved forward between the wheels. I think someone suggested that on another thread once.

Any thoughts out there on this?

Hey Mike,

I meant to reply to this thread a bit ago, anywho, here are some rear seat delete's from the 944 crowd. I believe these first ones are a 968 part $$$$:

I thought the pics might give you some ideas. Good luck and keep us posted.

Ed,

Thanks for these, some really cool ideas. I did some work today on it, trying some things out. I'll post tomorrow and ask for opinions. Too dark for pics right now.
