Stangs
Here in Maine I have seen a couple of the new Mustangs, just inside light bar, unmarked. I was cruising 95 and saw a Stang coming up on a Corvette fast both quite out in front of me. The Corvette accelerated, I hit the floor because I figured the more the merrier to play...until I saw the blues and lucky enough I had time to back down. He sure took the Vette by surprise!

Heck on the west coast of FL we have them in Chevy 2500 series pickups with a diamond plate tool box in back. No markings, no nothing but wigwags. That is NOT fair. If I am doing 80 and see a camaro or crown vic coming up I slow down and move over. If I see a white truck coming up....doof! If I slow down for every pickup I see, I might as well stay in the slow lane. I have not been busted but I have seen them pulling people over. DOT has white Expeditions but they are marked and only looking for trucks.
CT used to have unmarked Grand Nationals and T-Types as well a Mustangs and mazda MX-6's back in the 80's. Got nailed by one of those in my Jeep back when 55 was the law.

Well,
My mechanic in Greensboro NC who worked on my old 83s also maintained a black 84 928s for the Greensboro police department. He thought they used it in vice.

AH.. you say that but the Interceptors are designed for long terms sustained high-speeds.. that is what sets them apart.. not their breakneck keep up with you speed.. besides.. no matter how fast you are.. you are not faster than the $150 piece of hardware in his car has outfitted.....

The FHP has been using unmarked Marauders for a couple of years now. Problem is what has been referenced, you just might not notice them till its too late. They've always used the unmarked Crown Vics, but in the past you knew if you came up behind them because even though they used regular looking tags, the tag had the county referenced as Leon. That is where Tallahassee, the capitol is so you knew they were FHP. Now the tags dont have to desinate which county so they dont use those tags, so much for that easy tip! DOT used to only pull over & enforce commercial vehicles, their cars used to say Commercial Enforecement or such. A few years ago, they started assisting FHP in operations against the general public. Now they've changed the wording on their cars to read State Officer & they will pull any and everybody over too!

Speaking of police what are your views on this case, http://www.bcsportbikes.com/forum/sh...d.php?t=79664&
basically the jist of the story is a trooper was attempting to pull over a crotch rocket with an SUV, the bike didnt stop, cop went around a corner to fast flew off the road and killed himself. And now they are charging the rider of the bike with the death of the oficer.
I know it is alittle OT,

Something else to keep in mind. The campus police at state universities in Florida are actually state troopers too. Make sure you know that before you fly by one thinking they are only a step away from "rent-a-cops." They do respond to calls off campus when in need and their jurisdiction does not stop at the campus gates.

I have some very strong opinions about police chases and risks, just as I have about lame "laws". I shall keep them to myself in this instance.

In vermont they have chevy avalanches, white taurus, white dodge charger 4 door and intrepids on the islands, and of course the standard dark green crown vics. They are pretty stealthy with the light bars and some of the white cars are unmarked.

I am a total paranoid, ANYTHING comes up behind me and I am behaving as fast as I can. At night any lights behind me that get closer and I am behaving until they pass. Only tickets I have gotten were related to cresting a hill and zapped with radar maybe 5 and 15 years ago.
Soon enough all cop cars will scan every plate ahead of them, and writing a ticket will be no more than pushing a button in the car. Eventually it won't be possible to speed anyplace on a public road and get away with it.
Pursuit is dangerous and senseless.
