Most non-ROW 928's are wired for daytime running lights (DRLs). All you need to do is plug in a relay at the fuse/relay panel and the fog light come on as DRLs.
Saw these high power LED H3 daytime running lights:

At only 1 watt, they are probably not very bright. But I expect them to improve soon, as higher wattage LEDs are coming out.
Also, I was thinking about getting some of these Yellow Zenon H3 fog lights:

Doesn't look like you can have both LED DRLs and amber zenon fog lights.
The "additional high beams" that are mounted next to the fog lights seem like an overkill. So, I could rewire the DRL to use those. Sound like a plan?

DRL relay is at Relay socket III
https://www.928gt.com/images/tipimage/LateRelay.jpg
Relay part number 431 951 253 G. Used on Porsche/VW/Audi. It's just a standard relay, but with a diode (Porsche used the same power lines as the fuel pump, for some strange reason, so you need the diode for back EMF).

I've got the light purple relay in my 1995. You just plug it in slot #III on post-89 cars. IIRC, the Canadian cars had on import..

According to PET, it looks like only 90- have DRL (relay III).
OT, but interesting: US 83-86 have a fancy fog light relay which lets you flash the fogs if you pull back on the stalk with the headlamps down (78-82 does nothing). The euros have a regular horn type relay there, as they have proper driving lights which flash. Anyhu, if you put in a horn relay into the US socket, the foglights stay on with the high beams! (But you lose the flash.)
