Didn't you pick up a 928 a couple of months ago? It that it?
Yeah, it's the same car, I seem to recall it looking much better when I first picked it up. I remember looking at the ad on e-bay and thinking it would only take a month or two to get it on the road. That was 4 months ago. As soon as my big garage is finished in another week or two, I can move a bunch of junk around and enough room to get back to work on it. Believe it or not, I've already done most of the maintenance on it. Most of the bodywork is actually finished, but as I said, I need to shuffle some junk around so I can start putting on some primer and do some final touch-up work on the body. It may seem hard to believe but I've already got about 200 hours put into it and I have never driven a 928 at a realistic speed. Once the garage gets finished, this will be a 24/7 project until it's done. I want it done by the end of March or the beginning of April at the latest. Here's what it looked like in August.

If you want to drive one, us local guys need to come to your house so you can take your pick. I know it won't be the same, but I'm sure it wouldn't diminish your pride in your completed project. Glenn Manucci (Rennlist: Glenn M) is in your neighborhood (relatively close to you) down at Pax River - at least I think it's close.

Let us know if you need some help - seems like you got it under control though. Let's see that machine on the road.

Pax is about an hour away from me since I now live in Indian Head. Driving someone else's might not be the same, but it may offer some inspiration which I sometimes find myself in desperate need of. I've taken a lot of stuff apart on this car. I just hope I can get it all back together when I finish painting it.

We're here for you. Don't know if you know any of the local guys, but collectively we can cover the whole spectrum from changing spark plugs to rebuilding the motor (I'm on the spark plug changing side). We're always looking for somewhere to drive, so let us know. I'm sure we'll all be interested in the work that you've done and will do.

Have a great evening and wishing you the best for 2007.

Isn't everything tied together? The LH gets info from the MAF on the way in and the O2 sensor on the way out. So regardless of where air is added, to the LH it was unmeasured. Even if they aren't actually tied together, letting air into the exhaust is still a problem, as now the O2 sensor is measuring O2 that was not part of the combustion process, so it's reading is going to be off.

Wouldn't the exhaust manifold create + pressure, therefore no air will be drawn into the system, but lose air for O2 measurement - create an exhaust leak.

Just like Tomcat sad, exhaust will leak out at the CO port and not sucked in. That's whey is doesn't effect teh O2 sensor reading.
