Default Electric seat tilted all the way back and won't tilt back up (I fixed it)

My wife adjusted her seat today and tilted it all the way back and now it won't come tilt back up. I am thinking it is just a dirty connection and advice on what to do?

Could just be dirty brushes in motor. Just for now hold switch while rapping on seat and trying to pull it forward. Has worked for me.

My BMW would do this when the seat was all the way back. Slide it forward and see if it will go back up.

Hmm, why do you want it back up? Sounds like a perfect time to "christian" the 928

I have a similar problem on one of my seats, and haven't fixed it yet. Do you hear a slight 'click' or 'clunk' when the switch is closed? If you don't, may well be electrical. However, seat adjustments are all accomplished with a cable driven worm gear. When the adjustment gets to it's maximum (either way), it hits a stop. Mine (I think), at the end of the adjustment and the worm gear at the stop, adds extra torque (normally called breakaway torque) to get the nut moving down the gear again - and the motor just isn't beefy enough to get things moving. With age, old grease, dirt, and added weight of a person actually sitting in the seat, it's easy to see how things change over time. So, if it's not electrical, maybe try the switch while jostling the seat.

I let my grandchildren play with the seat back to have some fun... burnt out the motor all the way back - very $$$ to fix... still broke!

Not sure what I did but I fixed it and I really think it was human error, I think my wife was hitting the wrong switch.
