hey, a stock M3 euro with a cone filter, ecu flash and headers makes the same as our S4s!! just dynoed another one this week. 290rwhp out of a 3.2 liter! (thats 106hp/liter flywheel! out of a stock engine with very few changes)
Im sure 2 x the displacement of this kind of technology can produce 25-50% more HP (ie in our 928s)

I'm still using a stock airbox & chips, so I know there's a bit more on the table... but my license really doesn't need any more encouragement to self destruct.

the porsche gt3 puts out 136bhp/liter. pcars defy normal airpump physics, that's why we own them

that motor alone is worth 19K in parts. if it's running well - that's a killer deal.

Doesn't the M3 not have a throttle? The power is controlled by infinitely adjustable open and closing times of the Valves, AND the lift, acting as a throttle? Doesn't the car have individual runners, computer designed, acting into a perfectly designed manifold? Doesn't it have like an 8000rpm redline?

Actually the M3 is ...."Americans get a new M3 for 2001, replete with 333 horsepower.

Yes, you read right. Three hundred thirty-three horsepower from a high-revving 3.2-liter inline six. That prodigious output, measuring better than 100 horsepower per liter, is generated thanks to BMW's VANOS variable valve timing system on both the inlet and exhaust cams, individual throttle bodies that improve throttle response, and other engine upgrades and enhancements. Those 333 ponies arrive at a lofty 7,900 rpm.

Capped with a six-speed manual transmission, all that horsepower and the 262 foot-pounds of torque (at 4,900 rpm) is good enough to propel the 3,781-pound M3 convertible to 60 mph in just 5.4 seconds, according to BMW. The lighter 3,415-pound M3 coupe, meanwhile, reportedly gets the job done in an even quicker 4.8 seconds......." But Mark the M 3 ONLY has 262 ft lbs !

Just because some information has been shared on the internet does not give you the right to the full information. If you continue your bashing more people with knowledge will leave Rennlist. Most already have.

I have dynoed numerous 928's ranging from 178 to 487 rwhp and do not see anything outrageous in a 360 rwhp 6 litre engine. I am sure that there is room for more.
i am not sure if you actually read my post i am going on about not seeing any photo's.
i never questioned the actual horse power.
and i did not bash at anytime anyone about their knowledge, that was someone else , if you would be so good and recognize this.
and i am confident that noone would leave this forum because of me, that is just wrong.
same goes to rick...

as for bashing someone on engine knowledge, THAT WAS ME!

That was in refrence to a poster who has widley acknowledged that he dosent own even a set of wrenches, and has no capabilities in car maintanence or anything for that matter,(let alone engine assembly, modification etc etc) commenting on HP claims from a company thats been around for 10-15 years. So yeah when someone has something to say about an engine, or anything, they better know what they are talking about. If i think your full of ****, i am going to call you on it.

yes, ryan, you're right.
i am as well getting a bit tired of this game .
i mean, this is been going on over 3 threads now.
and when someone is really serious about selling a vehicle,
they try to advertize it in a adequate manner.

of course i understand that these fair people have their business to go on
and things to take care of , like websites and such.
no doubt about it.
but what time does it take, while they are oviously taking the time and are
able to answer serveral posts to actually add one or two photo's to that answer?
thank you very much ...hardly any at all.

and it is not because i am a dick or not a full member , yet, or whatever.
or because i don't think they deserve to sell their car for a good price.
no, all i wanted is to be able to appreciate it's value.

what is the big deal about all this ?
sincerely
michael c.

So, how many miles on this motor since the last refresh? What was the reason for the refresh?

Any pics to share?

I may be interested depending upon condition and cost to ship across country. I emailed Susan yesterday morning asking for pics and estimated shipping cost. As of yet, I have received no response.

I hate it when people have better things to do, than sit in front of their computer all day monitoring Rennslist posts. If I ever get a real job I may have to join them. I'm typing this at work, hope my employer doesn't read this post.

Call them if you are serious. Previous threads show they don't work well off e-mail. Would get a quicker response and not stand the chance of getting aced out by someone else.

Good point Ron,

I can tell when someone is serious about my car when they call. Typically e-mail comes from those not really interested. If you really want something and your blood is boiling over it, you call, call call, every hour till you get a response, thats the difference between getting it, and finding it sold a couple hours ago or just yesterday. Not saying this is that kinda deal, but if your serious PICK UP THE PHONE!

Point taken however the original post specifically requested that we email Susan. I was just following instructions. Perhaps I'll give them a ring although I've had some difficulty with that as well in past dealings with Devek. Email will be a necessary evil eventually if they are going to send pics.
