Big Time CONGRATS on your new Shark! That kind of Specialty Shark just sorta belongs here in Florida! Can't wait to see it at Sebring in Feb., you'll have to show it off there!

mel , i think he was just joking bout buying her.
i think someone else did win the bid.
(jazzyjordan420( -1 )No show, No Pay, retract her bids.)

this doesn't sound like the way fabio would do business. he doesn't strike me as that kind of person

I lost the bid to that person. When I saw that she had no feedback history I contacted the seller and asked him to call me if she didn't pay. She didn't pay and he contacted me. I drove to Dayton, Ohio to look at the car in person. I got it for much less than the high bid.
I hope this clears things up Ceedee. BTW, thanks for the kind words.

I think with some modification (i.e. strake removal, vent addition? - little blending in of the door sills...) the kit has potential. If you bought it and drove it home, esp. for "way less" than the bid price, I'm thinking you've got a decent start.

I decided to transport it home instead of driving it because the maintenance history isn't known. It runs strong though. There is also no radio as the guy I bought it from left it parked outside one night and found it with a broken side window and no stereo the next morning. That would have been a long, silent, nerve wracking drive.

The dash, pod, and rear glove box will need to be re-covered as will the door panels. The car needs to be re-painted as well. I noticed an oil leak at the front of the drivers side cam tower. The hatch has difficulty latching. Basically its a 28 year old car that needs alot of TLC.

Congrats Fabio ... Now the forst thing to do is change the wheels and headlights and you will feel like the car is worth $50,000. Trust me, do it.

Interesting kit though. I'm not offended by it as it looks more modern than most. You won't see it on my cars though.

Fabio,

That's a unique car there. It screams for some new shoes a la Andrew's WIIIIDE wheels and tires.

Congrats on getting a good deal. Your idea for re-modding the doors and back end sound cool, wish I could Photoshop it for you. How about adding something behind the rear wheels. It just looks like they were out of ideas at that point and just wanted to hurry the line to the rear bumper. One angle makes it look really wide and unfinished IMHO. I think it needs something to break it up like a molding or a shadow line or something. More like a fender flare than a wider back.

I think the trip home without the radio would have been just the thing to learn exactly what you've got there if there weren't any leaks (and the lack of service history doesn't help). Good luck on the transport, that's a whole new can of worms.

I'll play... Resolution is poor so I didn't bother with any amount of detail - hope it helps (maybe post some higher res when you get the car and I can try again).

Cool Fabio!
Lots of potential for a fun and unique shark. Lots of work ahead, but its all fun and it sounds like you are in with minimal risk. In the worst case if you just drive it, fix whatever maintence issues, repair the interior, and take to to california or florida you will probably come out at least even. When you get it home let me know what you need for for the interior as I have some parts I took out of my '79 cab that are not too bad and are just taking up space...if they are good enough for you you can have them for the shipping.
Niels...I like it much better that way. Kind of an X-men/ wolverene look, rather than posing as an italian car. Interesting to see what it would look like with the lines brought all the way forward though.

It never ceases to amaze me when people take one of the most beautiful cars ever made, stick crap on it, and don’t even bother to put nice wheels on. All any 928 needs is nice wheels and maybe an updated rear spoiler if it's an S4, GTS. Go figure. The kit costs what? 1500? You can get a nice set of wheels and new tires for that at Tire Rack.

Fabio's avitar however? Pricless. - Ruf

hey I like that photoshop job. Not a radical change from current, either - so it looks do-able.

These kits are a heck of alot more than that. The Jaquemond kit I have (not the one pictured in this thread) costs over $8k if you buy all of the pieces. Then you have installation and paint to add to that cost. Heck, just the freight on my Jaquemond kit was $1,100 . But I agree about the wheels. These will be up for sale in short order.

Niels Jorgenson: Thanks alot for Photoshopping those pics for me. I really appreciate it. I think you did a great job. Maybe someone else will want to do the other version I'm looking to see.
