Keith, your posts sure have been negative lately...thats not the Keith I remember. There actually were three 928's at the last gathering at the new Coffee and cars meet last Saturday. Just because people don't respond to a thread doesn't mean there won't be attendee's.

I think that they are meeting at 7am. We will save you a spot with us if you want us to.

Hey now, look at that - finally some commitments!
I appreciate Keith lighting a fire here and understand what he was trying to get across in his own way. Thank you, Keith.
Alright, then - those that will be able to join us, thank you!
I hope others will plan ahead for next year. It usually takes place the first weekend of December, so mark it in your calendars now so that you'll have less of an excuse not to participate.
Last year was the first time they had it at the Countrywide parking lot which allowed for an enormous amount of cars and a great number of toys collected.
It was my first year, it was a great experience, and I'll try to make it part of my holiday season for as long as they have it.

This year, I sent an email plea for donations three weeks ago to 112 family members, friends, and clients and have collected 45 toys, with a few more last minute pickups scheduled for Saturday, plus the toys I bought personally. The hardest part will be packing the car (and then unloading at the event)!
This a fun, worthwhile, and rewarding event to participate in and I wish more of you could experience it!

Well, I convinced SWMBO to let me out long enough to make it up to the show, and I just finished washing the shark, so I'll try to be at VCR at 7-7:15. Looking forward to seeing the crew!

No one showed up at the Dennys except a couple kids in A VW and two unfriendly types in Audi's so I came back home. I guess this adds fuel to Keiths fire. Didn't feel like making the run by myself. Sorry guys. Hope it was fun.

Ron- I was going to blast up very early, because one condition of going was that I be home as early as possible, but of course both kids arrived in our room at 5:30 AM coughing up a storm and the wife is 36 weeks pregnant. So I'm sitting here guarding crabby offspring, looking out at the beautiful morning. Is this the fifth ring of hell, or only the fourth?

Hey, thats family life. My daughter wasn't feeling well either yesterday and I had visions of sitting home with her. I also wasn't feeling to hot last night and this morning but got up and got the kid off to her moms, got gas and hot the meeting spot. Now i wish I had stayed in bed. I know a guy that is friends with the organizer of the Motro4cars event so I will get the toys to him. As they say, Sh-t happens. Hope the kids are feeling better.

I think this supports the point for folks who say they might make end up not going. All for more important family reasons. Should we say we are going then explain our way pout of it, or just shut up, arrive if we can make it, and have a good time.
Keith mentioned in another conversation that sometimes the only way to get the SoCal group to come out is to feed them for free, guide them through the day, send them home with no problems. Or schedule a clinic day and get a bunch of folks to work on a few cars for free. Time is precious for all, and there are plenty of things (and other people...) that force adjustments of priorities on a regular basis. So beat me up. I missed the toys event. Worked on some dinner arrangements for a couple hundred people for tomorrow night, float drivers and sponsors. It was put on my schedule yesterday, when somebody else dropped the ball. The 928 is in the garage gathering more dust today. Might get a chance to wash it in the next few days. Go for a drive? Maybe after New Years.
Oh yeah-- UCLA pushes USC out of the BCS championship and possibly into our little Rose Bowl game. Glad to see my old school win. USC fans, yes that engraving on the handle does in fact say "Twist to remove!".
