I agree Bob. I could have made the run myself but didn't want to make the two hour drive to find no one else there. It is easier to go down to the coffee and cars just 10 minutes from my house every Saturday if I choose. I know this is a great showing of cars and would have liked to go if it were't so far away. No matter, the toys will get donated somewhere. We all know you are a busy guy this time of year so didn't expect you to find the time. As far as getting the Socal guys together, I think it is timing more so than feeding and organizing. I have missed several events due to the kid situation and the amount of time the distance eats out of the day. Have a good holiday.

I've done a few regional meets for other online groups, and the big three does work, free food, free clinic, and lots of organized so people feel confident the event will happen and know about it far enough in advance to plan for it. Ring those three bells really hard, and I was able to get maybe 5% of the local guys to two events a year, with attendance rising for the first 3 events as it became more of a firm thing. After a couple years I burnt out and passed it on, and last I heard its still going, but now once a year. Any event from 11/15 to 1/15 is rolling the dice on attendance.

FWIW read in the news that the first confirmed case of Flu in Los Angeles was 12/2.

Sorry you guys couldn't make it. The event was great, myself, Joe P and Oscar from Lake Elsinore parked together. Lots of exotics, including the obligatory Ferrrari Enzo, a couple of Porsche CGTs and the other usual suspects. The weather was perfect, and Joe took lots of pictures. Most important, lots of toys were collected and we had a great time. Maybe next year we can have a better showing. I look forward to getting together with all of you soon. Damn, USC lost or did UCLA beat them

I saw no one at Dennys, a timing thing for sure. I ended up overshooting the exit to Westlake and ended up in Camarillo...oops! No biggie, it was a very nice morning and the tunes were playing. Excellent day for the event. I'll see about posting a few pictures tonight. Joe, you were snapping quite a few.....let's see em'

Wow, I was there at 6:45 a.m. and the VW kids showed at 7:10. We sat there until 7:30 and both decided not to make the run. Sorry we missed each other......

Sorry I missed you, I was a bit late out of Elsinore. I probably got there closer to 8AM. Anyways, there's always next time. What I'd like to do is set up a gathering in Lake Elsinore. I provide the garage, tools, and help and we do something like Roger in Texas....a timing belt water pump service. If anyone is interested let me know.

I need motor mounts...Hint, Hint! I will bring the German beer. When Dr. Bob did his event at his place it was a lot of fun despite the WP issues. I learned a lot and benefitted from the experience. I would be up for something. Pick a date and lets see if we can get some interest going.

The weekend of the 9th or 16th or a weekend in January. When I replaced mine, I replaced them with the anchor type mounts. It's been about 4 years now and I've had no problems. It's a very noticeable improvement in the car...you'll be wondering why you didn't do it sooner...I've got a large compressor and pneumatic tools this will help cut the time down.

This might be fun. Mine doesn't need this stuff yet, but I like to see as much of the guts as possible.

That said, there's no chance of this happening for me until after the holidays.

Maybe it could be an AC/Heater controller tuneup too?

Not a whole lot of guts to be seen in this procedure. It's just a little dirty is all. As far as the AC/heating system, I don't have the equipment to work on AC....sorry. I do have the WSM and IPB for these cars so maybe we can figure something out. Timing is up to you, just let me know a bit in advance.

Mine "work", but heat cannot be directed to the center vents; comes out the side vents just fine. And the lights in the control unit are dead. Minor stuff I think, but console stuff is going to have to come out, and my experience with that on previous cars is that it's a rat's nest.

Sounds like pretty minor stuff. The flaps are actuated by pneumatics...easy stuff. The lights in the AC/heating control unit are simple as well. I replaced mine with small neon tubes. It lights up good but if you have a sound system, it can introduce additional noise. I would go with LEDs if I had to do it again but I'm sort of into music.
