Thanks for the tips guys. As far as smog, there are no cats installed and it would not pass the test in IL, so I put collector plates on it. Euro 928's and the state of california are not the best of friends.

I didn't think it was, I was just curious. I agree that Ebay is a bad place for that one. Put it in the local paper and let some other college kid buy it. And for the love of god, DO NOT forget to put "obo" in your ad. Good luck with it.

A few suggestions:
1. Sell the Borla seperately - it's not adding as much value (if any) to the auction as you'd get outside.
2. Suck it up and put the door pannels back on - that's killing you right there.
3. Less pictures of the subwoofers (like none).
4. Make the ad more positive. Yes, you did the right thing by listing the problems, but you still need to sell someone on the idea of buying the car, so the rest of the ad need to do a better job of that.

the borla will fit your 83. It directly bolts on to the rear of the CAT. It sells for around $450, if you can find it in stock....

You have put a lot of work into the mechanicals, including some very expensive and laborious stuff, so I do understand and agree how it is 400% better than when you got it. This is a sunroof/rub strip delete car, and that is very desirable. Others have commented on the problem with the missing door panels. You comment about the windows not quite working. Unless you are shoving this car out the door, you need to get those items together. Your description of the paint job in the ad is confusing. Is it really bad or is it presentable? I understand you want to be accurate. It gets complicated unless the car is perfect, but the more words you use, the more concerned people get. Winter in Chicago is not the best time/place combination to sell a car.

I'm guessing you go to Depaul, looks like the car is on Fremont or Dayton, can't believe people are still putting up those 5,000 sq ft monsters one after another in Lincoln Park.
Anyhoo. Does the car drive? I think for a lot of us, this car is a pure parts car. Euro heads cams, the windage thing, nice panels, and wheels. That interior is minging, before I saw the pics, I thought people were overreacting, but it looks scary even to a lot of us who bought diamonds in the rough.
I had 4 of my six Porsches in high school and college, and I can tell you that mentioning you're in college in the ad might not inspire confidence in maintenence and things being done correctly. I can say those first four porsches were not treated nor maintained in any way resembling the way I handle them now. With these cars, deferred maint, or incorrect repairs means $$$$.
Honestly, suck it up and get those panels on, and dump those subs. I don't know if you have the rear seats, but the subs do not elicit confidence.
What's the temp there? It's a freezing 58 here, will be mid 70's again.

Congrats! Your persistance and patience deserved some sort of reward.
I hope it was someone from here. You did invest a lot to start on the road to squaring it away....part of me secretly hoped you'd have time to part it so I could go after some of the CIS bits, but hopefully it'll go to a good home where it'll have a few more opportunities to unleash a little whooop. You'll miss it though, I'm betting!

Congrats...
There's a possibility that your car will be for sale again in the near future. Judging from the bidder's feedback on ebay, the person may be a broker. If they are, they'll probably do a couple of cosmetic things to it and re sell it in TN (which is fine).
Hope if you find yourself in another 928 someday...

Roger
