Wow.

It looks like the fender is mostly back together though. And the rest looks really nice.

I second the motion to get a membership here. You'll never regret it. Good luck with it.

123quattro... as they routinely say here, "that'll buff right out."

Wally's words above are golden.

G'luck.

The fender looks like a fender from about 5'. It has multiple couple inch long cracks around the wheel well opening. I figure it will be easier to replace than weld/straighten/paint. I got a membership. I've already got more than $17 worth of good from this thread.

Success! This car is finally running. It had a ton of issues. The gas smelled like liquor and was brown. Drained that out. Fuel pump was seized. Borrowed another one from Andrew Olson. Ignition lock cylinder is fubared. Pulled the pod and cranked it with a screw driver. No ignition. Put a new connector on the green wire. Top vacuum line to the distributor was off. That, and some random relay stuff.

It's hitting on about 5 cylinders now. I'm going to put a new set of plugs in this weekend and see if it's that or if some of the injectors are clogged. I'm guessing injectors. Anyway, it running. That wouldn't have happened without the help of those on here.

The fender and doors have also been replaced. Once it appears to be reliable the first $2000 takes it.

Thanks,
John

If you have an extra fuel injector connector, use a 9-14 volt battery to test each injector. They will make a noticeable clack or thud when they open. If you hit the battery a few times a sticky one should open.

Even new or rebuilt injectors that have been sitting for a while can/will be stuck closed!

By the looks of things, I would guess this car had been sitting since the mid 90s prior to me buying it. I'll give that a shot.

Wow, looks like it's been sitting a bit more since you got it. I'd say drop a pint of Berryman's B-12 in 1/4 tank of fresh fuel and see if that helps any beyond what the new plugs will get you.

I put new plugs in this weekend and bumped all the injectors with 12v like Porken suggested. Looking at the old plugs it was not firing on 3 cylinders. Now it's hitting on all of them at idle.
