Making a back seat that someone could sit in?
Have any of you considered redoing the back seat, maybe sideways so someone could actually sit in it? Maybe its illegal, but I'm 6/4, son 6/6, wife 5/11, solution otherwise is all family travel is in the Lincoln.

buy a towncar then
seriously, the 928 dosent seem to fit your needs, your too big, its too expensive, too much to service the thing, too much work when things go wrong, why dont you just find a different car, i dont get you?

dont take this the wrong way, my first post was sarcastic, but realistically, this isnt the right car for you perhaps. MAYBE?????
I wont bother with alternatives, but this dosent seem to be an ideal, practical, or even useful car for you. Maybe you need a Cayanne, you could pick one up with a warranty, and still have a Porsche V8. Then you dont have to worry about servicing, hell who needs a garage, paint it matte olive and use it as a desert runner/in town car. then you can leave it outside, let it collect tree sap and who cares. PROBLEM SOLVED!

You want to alter the construction of the passanger compartment? This coming from the guy that comes out with spread sheets on servicing costs? If you had a shop do something like serious body work to accomidate this, i could see that making a big $10K hole in your wallet if not more.
Just get a different car, LS1 powered chevy Crapmaro, those have an LS1 already and are readily available with a manual trans, and a 6 speed, for those that have to have more then 5 forward gears. Not sure if their back seat is any larger, oh and hey hey come with T-tops so no head room issues there. Let alone welding in a non-sunroof panel to gain 2-3" additional headroom.

I just realised, you dont actually think about what you post do you, you just post things, like throwing crap at a wall and seeing if it sticks.
Legs across the tunnel!!! WTF? what like a recliner now, where would your back go, against the B-pillar, great for legroom horrible for torso and headroom! And then what? you have a 3 seater?
These cars have limitaions you obviously have very serious issues with, why not just find another car, i suppose you want to find a car that already has "genius" modification done to it, along of course with no sunroof, with an LS1, with a manual, an S4 or later, and in perfect mechanical condition and good physical condition for $10,000. Of course you would have an issue with your insurance company giving you more then $10,000 for this as it would obviously be irreplaceable to you, and you would need $50K to replace it. Of course i am sure your already working on that one.
Try Ford or Chevy for one of these

I have had 3 regular-sized people in my car on several occasions. Just have to slide the passenger seat forward a bit. Yes it's cramped but on every occasion the person in the back seat has said that it was well worth it for the ride. In one case, the guy in the back was 6'2 and he was like, "So what? what do you expect from a car like this?"

Like the seats as they are do anything except meet some European tax requirement.
Can I help it if I look at a problem and see possibilities?
May still have a few bits to work out, where the video screen goes etc.

BTW I do think about what I post, and even more about what I don't post.
For traffic what I like is a little box with buttons programmed for different sounds, machine guns, rocket launch, phasers, doesn't really work, but does relieve stress. Now with a HID and a bit of overlay animation it could be fun.
