Hi Chuck,

Close, there is an '80 chassis under there, of course there is less and less of it as time goes on JV and my race car both started life as '80 Euro S.

Doubt it. Look at the rear bumber... S4 style tail lights.

Very envious of you guys. Looks like a fun project! I need to get me a project car one of these days.

Some of the recent upgrades include S4 bumper covers front and rear. So it doesn't look much like an '80 anymore. I believe the front fenders were a pair I sent him from an '86 US. So there really wouldn't be much left to tell it was an '80 Euro S to start.

Geez where is JV to answer all these questions..... just kidding I know I started the thread

I think it is GT cams with Tri Y headers via 928 Intl and DTA Pro for engine management

Thanks Stan - you are the man. That car will destroy race tracks next year, thanks for sharing.

OK, I finally have a break from work after taking off yesterday to play.
Stan took some pictures yesterday of my "unfinished" car. This winter it will see the splitter, wing, numbers and some interior cleanup. Track will be in 2007 since the Northeast is closed for winter.

Car is my old 80 EuroS that has been to Sebring, Road America, Watkins Glen, Lime Rock and a few others. FYI- Car ran a 1 min flat at Lime rock in 2004
I updated the looks of the car while building my stroker.

Before I go any further I must give a BIG BIG thank-you to all the help and support from Louis Ott during this project. I went into this project knowing he was there to support me on all of the ECU programming stuff. He has been a wonderful resource and might have to fly out to the West coast to buy him his much deserved drink.

I added to the car:
GTS brakes and rotors
Trans cooler
Louie Ott's wonderful rear fender flares
Adjustable rear sway bar (928 Specialist)
I blended in Tass's front aluminum flares
S4 front and rear bumper and side skirts
12" wheels running 305's and 335's

As for the motor:

Scat crank
fully grooved main bearings (Greg Brown)
New 968 pistons
Olivier Rods
968 intake valves (from Garrity at Motorsport in Utah)
Local guy did the valve job, I did the port cleanup
50mm throttle body setup (Ott Engineering)
Carbon Fiber air box (Ott engineering)
Custom cams
DTAPro8 ECU (Ott Engineering)
Custom wiring harness
Custom Headers-HotJet Coated (928 International)
Home built exhaust (dual 3" to flowmaster Y to a single 4" spintech)
Dry sump (custom build using Anderson's car as a guide)

Great support from many individuals. Mark Anderson had his car on the lift at Sharktoberfest 2005 just for me to take pictures for my drysump design. Musante Motorsports were great with using their dyno yesterday. Did I mention how great Louie has been?!

Hopefully I can resolve the silly 6K rev limiter that showed it's ugly head on the dyno. Might be one of the coil packs going bad. As for a Dyno chart not until it's fully tuned and singing to 6600

Why only 6600? I see 7200 with no aparent problem.

That is soooo cool! I am uber-jealous of your motor/computer setup. Hopefully I can do something like that in a couple of years when my stock lump kicks the pail.

Stock transmission? Also, where did you get the lexan rear and 3/4 windows?

Please share more! What bore and stroke? What are the specs on the cam? Can you post the dyno curve? It would be nice to see how the cam and induction system worked together at various points, it might also help to nail down your problem. How did the missing/rev problem manifest itself? What's your plug gap?
Well, I ran out of question marks...

I'll go to 7K when needed on the track, but Louie's motor made peak HP at just under 6600. My motor is almost the same spec. with a few slight differences. The stroker motor produces some really high piston speeds at 7k, so no abuse unless really necessary.

Stock 89 trans. Rear lexan hatch and side windows were made in my garage.

104mm bore, 95.25 stroke. Standard 928 stroker stuff. The ignition thing also happens with no load. Going to do some trouble shooting this weekend.
