Default It was the relay

Hey everyone,

This thread is kind of old, but since I just got it fixed, I thought I'd update it and put it to bed in case anyone has this problem in the future. It was the relay.

I ended up being able to trade for a used headlight relay rather than buy one outright (thanks Andre). Switched it out and voila! Works up and down just like it was made to.

Thanks everyone for your time and input.

On to the next thing...

For the record, 928Intl sells used HL combo relays as well for less than half the cost of new ($40 vs. $100). I went that route.

NJ my '87 had the same issue up until I replaced the headlight relay. Must be a common thing on 928s eventually

Mongo,

Thanks, where were you when I was working on this for the past 2 months .

Bill,

I didn't realize the used ones were only $40, but with shipping, that's right on the bubble of where I would decide whether or not to try part swapping (usually). I hate to just order a list of stuff and swap it out, I'd rather isolate it and then just fix what's broke. Andre offered me a deal that made it worthwhile and we both benefitted (I think, Andre?).

Anyway, I'm glad to put this one to bed, I hated showing up somewhere and leaving my lights up or worse, getting out and hand cranking them down.

This weekend: Horses are on the way (crossover cat pipes from Motorsport and the Porken EZ-F'er )
