Default ROBBED AT GUNPOINT

GOT ROBBED A FEW DAYS AGO AND THEY TRIED TO TAKE MY CAR. AS YOU KNOW 928s TURN OVER MORE THAN NORMAL AND I THINK THEY GAVE UP BUT KEPT MY KEYS. WHEN I GOT NEW KEYS A FEW DAYS LATER I DISCOVER I HAVE LOST INTERIOR LIGHTS, MY ALARM,DISPLAY PANEL,AND ALL GUAGES INCLUDING SPEEDO,TACH,FUEL,OIL PRESSURE,COOLANT BATT AND CHECK ENG LIGHT IS ON CONSTANTLY. EVERYTHING FINE WHEN I LAST PARKED IT. CAR RUNS WELL, ALL OUTSIDE LIGHTS AND AC WORKS.SO IS IT A SIMPLE FUSE ,RELAY OR SOMETHING WORSE? THE CAR IS A 1991 928GT. RELLY NEED SOME FAST COMPLETE REPLYS AS I AM ON THE ROAD AND THE DEALER ALMOST FAINTED AT THE THOUGHT OF WORKING ON A 928. HARRY WILLIAMS USUALLY IN PENSACOLA WORKS ON MY CAR BUT I AM IN MONTGOMERY, AL. HELP PLEASE!!! THANKS, MACK

Mack most likely the electrical ignition switch behind the key has failed perhaps because the "bad guy" was turning the key really hard ?

PM me your cell phone. I know a good mechanic in Montgomery that works on Woody's 928.

Maybe they blew the interior light fuse, fiddling with the dome light?

wow sorry to hear, but glad you are still with us.

Its weird but i have heard of weird stuff happening to car after something like this, like its cursed. I know some people if they have their car stolen, and do recover it, its never the same car, for whatever reason. So they just end up getting rid of it. Its apparently traumatic for the car as well as you.

Mack -

Harry told me what happened.

If you don't get things going - let me know and I'll come get you with my trailer.

It DOES sound like the elec switch part of the ignition. Try jiggling the key.

I left my # on your cell...Call me if you need me to come get ya.

I just talked to Mack...probably going to get his car in the next day or so.

TYPICAL P-CAR DEALER - They tell him the Hall Sensor is causing his problems...

GIVE ME A BREAK!!!

Oh sure.... the hall sensor is always the first thing to check when you have gauge problems.

Good thing I didn't know that first time I went after a gauge gremlin -- I'd probably STILL be looking for the hall sensor.

I hesitate to "hijack," this thread particularly, but if they've got the drop on you, your piece is one of the more valuable things they'll get.

Unless they miss it, in which case they're welcome to some high-velocity pieces of it as they leave.

Now that I am living in Columbus, Ga. I would like to know of this resource, please.

Glad you are OK, Mack. I shot a carjacker that tried to rob me 1991, so I know where you are coming from.
