Sounds good, I'm deferring to you all as to the means of linking. Sean has a laptop and webcam, and Roger was working on getting the internet access out to his garage. We should probably all test the access tonight. I've never activated my Yahoo Messenger, but I do have a Yahoo account, and I've seen references to YM. I'll try playing with it right now.

Gary,
We are down to three cars at my end. Maybe I will do one of my own to swell the numbers back up a bit.
So as for now we are going for the BS World Record.

OK, here's the link to YM webcam:

http://messenger.yahoo.com/superwebc...yx1zXbvRdnMMIF

It looks like we can do what we're trying to do. First of all, you'll need to click on "Get Yahoo Messenger". Then it would seem we'll need to "be friends", and once a webcam is setup, the camera "host" can invite friends to view the cam. So, if you are interested in viewing this event, send me a message with your YM info, and I'll get a list of FRIENDS together, and share that with Bill and Mike (and Shocki if he gets his camera on). my e-mail address is efhughes3 (at) verizon (dot) net.

I may be along with you here in Denver, and anyone in the Denver area is welcome to come over. I will be disassembling the night before, so if anything looks amiss or I see larger issues, I will be going a different direction on Sat and Sun. I'll still ask a lot of questions, though.

Of course, I also still need the parts I ordered... That might put a kink in the plan.

I'll be doing a rack job on my GT on Sat, and helping or getting in the way on the TB/WP jobs before I get falling down blitzed by Sat PM.

BTW, someone in the DFW area should be prepared with the left hand drill bits, and or stud remover kit for WP bolts. I have a cheap remover set, but left hand bits are the cat's meow, or bees knees, or whatever simile you like. I'll bring some air tools for grinding and/or fast removal of bolts.

Ok, from a web cam stand point we are going with the yahoo option. I just tested it out with roger and it looks simple enough for everyone.

If you plan on watching it you will need yahoo messenger. If you are broadcasting all you will need is a web cam that will auto hook up to yahoo. It's about a 30 second hook up and start up.

What we are not sure about is how the video quality will be with the million or so 928 owners that will be watching, it will eat up a bit of band width.

Rog will have prolly 2 lap tops and his vid cam, i'll bring my vid cam and a router in case we need it. So we should have 2 different yahoo ID"s to sign in to to watch, we have not decided if we will have both cams on the same car doing different angles or two cars, it really doesn't matter.

Also we will have a chat window open for those that are doing this so they can chat back and forth either making fun of my stupid mistakes or asking questions. Typical chat stuff.

We can get started tonight on "adding the friends" on my ID, you can add (baja240s@yahoo.com) to your add contacts and that will be one of the cams. Roger will post his user information when he gets it set up.

When you ask for an add, please put in there who your Rennlist nick is and that you are doing a H2O pump, so we can let the guys doing pumps get the vid feed first. After that whoever, as much as we can handle, can watch also.

Start time will be around 8am CST, at least that is when we will start setting up.

I've got all sorts of ez outs and the like, and when I went looking for left hand drill bits, they seemed to be out of them in Denton. If you wouldn't mind, we might need yours.

Ed would you like me to swing by your place on Friday to load up tools in the truck? I'd hate to get the 928 dirty with jacks and such.

Harbor Freight sells a small but adequate lefthand bit set. Remember - NO EZ-OUTS!

Oops, excuse me I seem to have bumped this thread. I'll go by NT and get a set of LH drill bits. First one to use it buys the bit(hahaha!). Hey Sean, I think 08:00 CST is a bit aggressive for the left coast guys. If they get up at 06:00 just to watch us sit and drink tea and crumpets, well, that's dedication. I don't plan on turning a wrench until after 9-ish.

I guess I'm out of the broadcast business . Tried to hook up a webcam to my laptop yesterday and I can't get it to work. The laptop is an old one with Win98 on it and I can't seem to get it to install properly.

I do plan to view the festivities and join the chat though. If all goes well I should at least have my belt out by the time you west coasters get started. I'm not worried about the disassembly as much as reassembly anyway. Maybe it's best that I won't be able to send video .

See you all online Saturday! and by Saturday PM:

I'm with Doc. All the preliminary stuff (queing, jack-standing, etc) can be done prior to turning a wrench or turning on the Webcam.
8:30 arrival with pleasantries and 9am wrenching for me.

I don't know, I'm a big proponent of early starts. BTW, forecast is sunny and 54 degrees around here, perfect wrenching weather, IMO.

Ed, the high for the day is 54 degrees. It won't be 54 at 8-9 am. I'm all for early starts, too, but Doc and I got a lot farther drive than you. I'll be there.
