Rear end rain leaks
I have one car with water entering the rear fram area so it's wet inside the frame, under where the lock receiver is, but the lock receiver and hatch are bone dry. Where is my water entering?

So, it sounds like it's entering from below? Seems like the most likely place would be passenger wheel well somewhere, since I don't think you own a car new enough to have the full enclosure, and the passenger side has even less protection than the driver side.
Nothing else is wet? Cargo carpet, spare wheel and battery well are dry?

Chris the carpet would be a symptom. Above where the S4 light is bolted from the inside, is a hole. That hole opens to what is the "inside frame". That area is wet.

hmmm, i am not sure i understand your leak location.. but mine was leaking through the bolt holes for the rear hatch glass trim.... it took forever to find... i had water in the car but the hatch was always dry because the water simply ran off the hatch on the inside and left no signs of water travel.

The shelf that also contains the lock receiver. Under it is a space. That space is wet. Usually that is from leakage through the hatch in some way. In this case the hatch is not the source of the leak and neither is the seal, nor the lock. Agreed what you describe is a common leak.

Heinrich, one place it can come in is around where the hatch seal tucks under the sill plate that screws in at the top of the bumper cover. If the seal is above this piece, it could leak. If the seal is split near the bottom where it is glued together, it can leak.

I have the same apparent leak in mine. Inside the back hatch, there is a hole under the shelf above where the rear tail light bolts in. Hard to see, but you can reach up under and feel it. Mine has spray foam in it, and the foam is wet. I'm waiting for it to dry out before I start the process of pouring water in various places to see where it might be leaking from.

You could try putting some 2" masking tape or blue "race tape" over the 1/4 window seal. Make sure it's dry before you do so, and check it in the morning.

OK... I get it... you just want to see if I'll flinch if you mention doing something dumb to your car... Well, I flinched.
After thinking about this some more, I seem to recall dr bob put some foam around his taillight assemblies to keep water out, then drilled holes in the pocket in the bumper cover to let water out in the event any collected in there. So, if the taillights are not sealed to the bumper cover in any way, is it possible that water is coming in at the top of the taillight and dripping down to the hole that you mention? Maybe an easy check with a garden hose...
